Admin here once worked in some P.G. food establishments. When cleaning up after messy “families” I wished there was an added charge for cleaning up after the rug rats.

“I think it’s ridiculous,” tourist Teresa Colombani said. “I think kids need to know how to behave in restaurants, and if you, don’t take them to them, they don’t know how to behave and they shouldn’t be kept hidden away, so I think it’s ridiculous, kids should be allowed in restaurants.”

The owner of the restaurant, Chris Shake, said if customers don’t like the rules, they can go somewhere else for dinner.

Shake said not only does he stand by the signs, but said his business has never been better.

“Well let’s put it this way, I haven’t had a down year for over 20 years,” Shake said. “Our business continues to grow.”

The pedestrians, an 11-year-old girl and her 60-year-old grandmother, were crossing the street near Lovers Point park just after 3 p.m. when Gordon Eugene made a left turn onto Ocean View Boulevard, failed to see them and hit them, Pacific Grove police said.

Law enforcement from Monterey, Seaside, Marina, Sand City, California Highway Patrol, the Presidio of Monterey, and the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office pursued the vehicle.

The suspects were stopped near the intersection of Las Palmas Parkway and River Road in Salinas. The male driver and female passenger were taken into custody.

The driver, a 35 year old man from Seaside, was arrested and charged with evading a peace officer, reckless driving, driving in the opposite direction of traffic, possession of methamphetamine, and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

The female passenger, a 36 year old from Pacific Grove, was arrested and charged with possession of narcotic drugs and possession of burglars’ tools.

The sound is being heard by residents living about a quarter-mile away from the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Jim Covel, the aquarium’s director of guest experience — who has experience with this species — said the sound likely comes from “lonesome males” trying to attract mates.

The endless motor-like sounds are produced by their strong muscles pressing against their balloon-like bladders. They hit the bladder about 6,000 times a minute — twice the speed of a hummingbird’s wings — and do it during a mating season that usually starts in May and ends in September. The loud hum can last for more than an hour at a time.

At least use a paint that matches gull droppings so you don’t get.in trouble like a shop on Grand once did for painting the sidewalk.

Stuart Elder DUI Trial Set

Hope Elder never drives a car again.

California Highway Patrol officers say that on the evening of the crash, Elder’s Cadillac SUV swerved into an opposing lane of Sloat Road in Pebble Beach. The Cadillac crashed into a 2005 Ford. LaRone and Daly died at the scene. The women were well known locally as former owners of a Pacific Grove pet store.

He was arrested at the scene by CHP officers and released on $430,000 bail.

Elder is charged with two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, plus a special enhancement of causing great bodily injury to his passenger, 20-year-old Selvia Gattas.

Officers responded about 10:40 p.m. to the 1900 block of Sunset Drive, where they found a crowd in front of Beachcomber Inn rendering first aid to the Marina man.

Further investigation revealed the motorcyclist had been traveling east on Sunset from Asilomar State Beach and took a curve at a high speed, causing him to lose control.

The man fell, and, still straddling his motorcycle, slid through the bushes along the shoulder of the road before coming to rest in front of the hotel.

Police are investigating an explosion that left a building on Presidio Boulevard with shattered windows and broken light fixtures early Saturday morning.

Nearby residents told police an explosion activated several car alarms and left a smoky stench that they thought came from fireworks. Police combed the area near Austin Avenue and found that a large, homemade mortar-style device had exploded in EnviroTemp Heating and Cooling’s parking lot, police said.

Pick a fight with the Favaloros, eh? That’s what they like. According to the newz, the fence must be bolted permanently to the sidewalk due to liquor rules. So is it a cafe or a bar?Favaloros Fence

City Manager Tom Frutchey told News Channel 5 the city authorized the business to build temporary, movable fencing, but not permanent. Otherwise, he said Cafe Ariana is making public property, private.

On Friday, the city made a visit to the business and said it would help take down the fencing. The city told News Channel 5 it would be willing to weld steel bars to the bottom of the fence so that it’s movable.
