Like, carry a gun in coyote country.

“I hear this barking and it just sounds like you’re a normal dog. So I looked behind me and I said to you, OK, there’s a dog up there. And I’m like, it’s not really dog, is it?” Lindsey said.

“And next thing I know the coyote is coming from the rocks all the way down down to the beach.”

Duke and Lindsey start walking down the beach while she is still calling for Duke to continue moving forward away from the coyote.

Lindsey said, “We got about 10 yards away and I look over and the coyote is parallel with me, probably about six feet away. And that’s when I realized he wasn’t necessarily after me. But he was stalking Duke.”

Lindsey said this went on for about five minutes and a good distance down Asilomar. She kept an eye over her shoulders until the coyote was out of her sight.

“I watched him all the way down to the other end of the rocks and he actively stood there standing his ground, barking, not even howling, just barking like your average dog,” Lindsey said.

What Do The Free Dog Sh*T Mitts Cost The Taxpayers?

Can’t get free plastic bags at the store, but cities were giving away plastic bags to pick up dog poop. Carmel has halted the giveaway.

. . the little baggies available from dispensers all over town that dog walkers use to clean up after their pets, cost taxpayers more than $20,000 annually, city administrator Chip Rerig said this week. So, like many other niceties, they are getting cut out of the budget.

Howling Coyotes Hunting Humans And Their Dogs

A girl, “quite literally running for her life, came tearing off the path into the street dragging her dogs along with her,” Elyse said in a post on a social media site.
“She was trying to get away from coyotes that were chasing her.”

In trying to help the young woman flee the pack of coyotes — there were as many as five of them, she said — Elyse yelled at her to walk on the ocean side of 17 Mile Drive while Elyse walked on golf course side, since, at that point, the coyotes seemed to be coming after her. “They circled us and came way too close,” said Elyse, who estimated the wild animals got about 10 feet from her. After a few minutes, the other woman and her dogs were picked up by someone in a car and the coyotes left the area.

From beginning to end of the video, the pudgy little canine would pop in one shop, look around, and head out to sniff out his next adventure. There is a barbershop scene, and another as he sits critically in a golf cart commenting on a swing. In the end, he is sitting contentedly watching the sun set over the ocean waves.

One of the goals of the $6,000 video — shot by a KION crew — is to distinguish Pacific Grove as its own destination point.

“A man was walking his dog and another person came up in her vehicle, opened up the door of her vehicle and before she could grab the leash, the dog ran out and attacked the other dog. The gentleman tried to get the dog off his dog, was unsuccessful tried to pry the mouth of the dog off his dog and ended up biting him as well.” That’s when the man pulled out his knife, stabbing and killing the pitbull.

Although there are dog bag dispensers at Carmel Beach, SOS has found that many visitors are bagging their pets’ waste and leaving it on the sand, rather than walking it to a garbage can.

“Plastic bags of dog waste on the beach are a serious issue,” said Rachel Kippen, SOS Program Manager. “Not only are they an eyesore and horribly unpleasant, but they also have a direct impact on some of our most critical species, including the endangered southern sea otters that call Carmel’s kelp forest home.”

Pet Hoarder Discovered On Fountain Ave

The animals will get first rate care, what about the people living in the house?

A small historic home in Pacific Grove was declared uninhabitable Wednesday after authorities found it crammed with dogs and cats in “shocking” conditions, the SPCA for Monterey County said.

The house was cluttered with piles of clothing, trash and garage, along with feces and urine, the SPCA said.

There were 18 dogs, including four small puppies, locked in three small back rooms. The stench of ammonia from urine was so strong that fire officials recommended that animal rescuers use protective gear.

Two cats were also taken from the home in the 400 block of Fountain Avenue.
