At Wharf 2, officers spotted Jonathan Marvel Garate with several other people near a vehicle and approached them. They reportedly found Garate with a handgun that had been reported stolen out of Pacific Grove in November.
Their investigation led them to a home in Seaside, where they conducted a probation search, PRVNT agents said. There they found a 17-year-old young man with an unregistered handgun.
And busted. We wont name the persons that might have discharged a 30.06 rifle and a .357 magnum in the 400 block of Grand 30+ years ago..
During the search, detectives found five guns, high capacity magazines, ammunition, about two grams of methamphetamine, narcotics paraphernalia, and over 20 morphine pills.
46-year-old Herbert Stevenson and 40-year-old Lorien Weaver both of Pacific Grove, were arrested on suspicion of violating probation, various drug and firearm-related offenses, and child endangerment.
Why, of course it was just another day on Arkwright Ct, the gateway to Del Monte Park.
Pacific Grove police officers were called to Arkwright Circle around 6 p.m. There they found Leif Rowan arguing with residents of the apartment complex.
Witnesses told police Rowan had been shooting at kids with the BB gun, hitting one child but not causing injury. They said he then threatened to hit a resident while brandishing a metal horseshoe, battered a 16-year-old and was ultimately restrained by the teen’s father.
Hope that the gun you gave up was not used in a crime, they know where it came from.
The firearms will eventually be test fired to record ballistics details.
Though there is no evidence that buybacks reduce violent crime, that’s not the only goal of the events, Myers said.
“They increase community and public awareness and gun safety,” she said. “They remove the availability of weapons … for potential accidental shootings and thefts or (from) those with mental health problems.”
