Jason Rutt released from jail on the loose again.

The incident began before sunrise when Rutt broke into several houses in Pacific Grove, including one where he entered a bedroom where children were sleeping, took a shower, and fed the children with bananas, according to police.

The house was on the 600 block of Acorn Court.

“Rutt entered through an unlocked door. He showered, ate and then went into a (child’s) bedroom. (He) was apparently feeding the small children in their bedroom,” McSorley said.

The homeowners did not realize there was an intruder until they heard a shower running, police said. They called 911 at 4:30 a.m.

Rutt ran out of the house, broke into two more houses nearby, and stole some property, McSorley said. He entered through unlocked garages.

The children who Rutt encountered were not harmed, but their parents were “obviously freaked out,” McSorley said.

Rutt was recently released from the Monterey County Jail and is on probation for burglary. His family lives in Pacific Grove and family members are cooperating with police.

PGPD say 29-year-old Jason Rutt entered the home through an unlocked door and proceeded to shower, eat a meal, then went into the small children’s bedroom and began feeding them.

The parents at the home awoke when they heard the shower water running, Rutt took off and investigators believe he burglarized two more homes gaining access through unlocked garages.

As vehicles pass the trailer, their speed is displayed, as well as red and blue strobe light will blink to catch the attention of motorists. The “speed” trailer cost the department $8,000, which was taken out of the general city funds, said Cmdr. Cassie McSorely.

“We get complaints about speeding cars in every neighborhood. Traffic and speeding is one of the main concerns in our community,” McSorely said.

Pacific Grove police officers were called to Arkwright Circle around 6 p.m. There they found Leif Rowan arguing with residents of the apartment complex.

Witnesses told police Rowan had been shooting at kids with the BB gun, hitting one child but not causing injury. They said he then threatened to hit a resident while brandishing a metal horseshoe, battered a 16-year-old and was ultimately restrained by the teen’s father.

Missing Swimmer Identified

A newspaper in Contra Costa County is identifying the 18-year-old who went missing at Asilomar Beach last weekend as a Moraga resident.

News 24-680 identified the man as Bryan Capdevielle, who had gone swimming with his younger brother.

Local surfers were able to get the 16-year-old to safety but when they went back for Bryan, he’d already gone under, officials said.

Patricia Conklin Gets Jail In Probation Violation

Update.

Patricia Conklin, 47, was convicted of three counts of elder abuse at a jury trial in August 2013. At the time, she was placed on felony probation with the eight-year prison sentence suspended pending successful completion of probation.

In July, Conklin was found to be in violation of several terms and conditions of here probation, prompting imposition of the full eight-year sentence.

The second and third counts related to endangerment of her mother on March 9, 2013. On that day the defendant went to a skilled nursing facility where her mother was recovering from the surgery. Conklin went to the facility and demanded the release of her mother while accusing the staff of wanting her mother’s money.

“She also made threatening statements to the staff. She then took her mother home where she had failed to prepare for her mother’s return,” the District Attorney’s Office said in a release. “The home had numerous tripping hazards, no assistive devices to help her mother and no qualified nursing care. The defendant also told police the toilets weren’t working.”

Four Runner into the Victorian Corner. Probably couldn’t find a parking place what with VC workers’ cars taking up all the parking spaces.

Occurring just after 3 p.m., the first crash involved a 70-year-old woman who accelerated when reversing out of a parking spot on Lighthouse Avenue before crashing into Alliotti’s Victorian Corner restaurant. The driver approached 40 miles per hour, hitting a stop sign and a parked vehicle along the way.

The woman’s Toyota 4Runner came to rest inside the restaurant and injured owner Mary Alliotti, who was taken to a hospital with undetermined injuries, Pacific Grove police said Tuesday. The driver of the parked car was also hospitalized with unknown injuries, police said.

Teach the kids to look both ways. And use the crosswalk.

Around 4 p.m., a 10-year-old Pacific Grove Middle School student was hit by a vehicle driving westbound on Sunset Drive.

Police said the girl did not use the crosswalk and mentioned the intersection were she was hit — in front of Pacific Grove High School — is not known as an area where collisions like these occur.

The girl was injured and was airlifted to a Bay Area trauma center. Police said her condition is not yet known.

Pacific Grove Tries To Attract Homeless With Free Parking

The Pacific Grove City Council on Wednesday moved closer to creating a city ordinance allowing homeless people to sleep in their cars at church parking lots and other approved locations.

The city has been “visionary” in its approach to homelessness, said Tia Sukin, founder and director of One Starfish Safe Parking and Supportive Services, which will run the project.

“They’ve also been very aggressive in making sure this gets on their agenda. That’s really nice to see, trying to help people,” she said.

Under the program, homeless people with vehicles will be screened before they are approved to sleep in a designated church or other parking lot.

Forest Avenue Safeway Still A Dangerous Place

The 38-year-old victim was at the Safeway parking lot on Forest Avenue about 9:30 a.m. when a woman asking for a job approached her. The victim offered the suspect a ride, not knowing she was armed with a handgun, Pacific Grove said.

Once in the car, the suspect took out the weapon and threatened to harm the mother and her children if she was not taken to a location in Salinas, police Sgt. Jeff Fenton said.
