Officials in the San Francisco Bay Area are reporting a quiet night after a tsunami advisory was issued Tuesday for the coastal areas of California and Oregon.

In nearby Pacifica, police closed Pacific Pier earlier that usual, though the waves late Tuesday were reported to be no bigger than those generated during a winter storm.

Millions Worth Of Art Stolen From Rented House In Pebble Beach

What sounds odd about this story? Someone that would have so many items of that value just sitting on the floor or that they blame the house’s owner for not having adequate security?

The stolen pieces include one by Jackson Pollock, three by G.H. Rothe, one by Matisse, four by Miro, two by Rembrandt, a Renoir and a van Gogh.

While it’s unclear exactly how much the art pieces are worth, Marohn said, the Pollock’s estimated value ranges from $20 million to $60 million. The other art pieces are collectively estimated at $7 million.

The discovery of the theft was made Friday, Marohn said, and a bedroom window was broken. “The owner of the property has been put on notice several times about security issues at the house,” he said.

96 Year Old Woman Beaten To Death In P.G.

Around eight last night, Pacific Grove Police responded to a medical emergency on the 2800 block of Forest Hill Boulevard. When Officers arrived, they found 96-year-old Charlotte Danvers lying on the floor, badly beaten. Police say she suffered traumatic injuries and died earlier this morning. Bill Speacht lives next door to the Danvers and he says this comes as a shock to the whole neighborhood.

“We did hear some screaming before and things like that, but I mean it wasn’t like a common occurrence, and that’s what I told police,” says Bill Speacht.

Police arrested Danvers’ daughter, 63-year-old Jean Danvers. Officers charged her with homicide and she was booked into the Monterey County Jail today. Neighbors say they didn’t know the family well.

Brennan Tiffany
no, won’t be passing out acid but maybe something else . . .

Suspect lived on Cypress street in New Monterey and stupid enough to be driving his getaway car into P.G. Why do you think they call it ‘dope’.

The suspect, 32-year-old Brennan Tiffany, was arrested at gunpoint in the Safeway parking lot on Forest Hill Wednesday morning, when officers in an unmarked car spotted him.

Around 10 a.m. Wednesday, a Pacific Grove detective and a detective from Marina following leads in an unmarked car fortuitously saw Tiffany’s Toyota SUV entering P.G. via Highway 68. They summoned other officers and initiated a felony stop, pulling the car over in the Safeway parking lot and drawing their guns before approaching to arrest the driver..
