Is it odd that no administration jobs are listed as potential cuts?

The jobs at the city’s two elementary schools that could be on the chopping block include four classroom teachers, which would save $511,904, a Spanish teacher for a $139,907 savings, and a mental health therapist, which would save the district $178,626. Other possible cuts include the loss of two mental health therapists at the middle and high schools for a combined savings of S363,443, and a technology support position for a savings of$148,305.

The district, which is experiencing declining enrollment, is also recommending is a 3 percent reduction of all materials and supplies, professional consulting services, and other cuts for a $131,847 savings.

After the baby killers were kicked out, we have this one that is more open with it’s curriculum.

School District trustees last week approved a new sex education course over worries that refusal by former provider Planned Parenthood to allow public inspection of its  curriculum put the district at odds with state law.
The five-member school board voted unanimously at its Nov. 7 meeting to approve a $4,090 contract for Carpinteria-based Positive Prevention Plus to provide sex ed curriculum to students.

Pacific Grove Unified administrators decided to drop the Planned Parenthood Mar Monte course after the group informed the district its content was “proprietary” and that
the district was not allowed to let the public, including some parents of students, see it.

Pacific Grove Unified School District will no longer use a sex education course offered by Planned Parenthood because of the group’s restrictions on public access to the curriculum, the superintendent said this week. In the spring, though, some Pacific Grove parents and residents who requested to view the curriculum over concerns it contained gratuitous and explicit sexual content were denied access to it.

Facing criticism about a webpage in the course that seemed to promote sex to kids, Planned Parenthood removed the content. The same page contained a hashtag that, when searched online, offered pornographic websites, according to a citizen who viewed the course.

On Oct. 25 at about 12:30 p.m., officials at the David Avenue charter school called 911 to report a student with a knife. Pacific Grove Police officers responded and found the boy near the corner of Forest Lodge Road and Congress Avenue holding a “doubled  edged weapon.” “The student was safely disarmed and escorted away from the campus to access necessary support services,”

The Monterey County District Attorney’s Office and Pacific Grove Police say Todd Daniel Fields, 37, went onto school grounds on Sept. 23 without permission. When P.G. High math teacher Joseph D’Amico confronted Fields, the Lancaster man said he would shoot him. He was arrested less than 10 minutes later. Fields “did willfully and unlawfully threaten to commit a crime which would result in the death and great bodily injury to Joseph D’Amico,”

Pacific Grove Police Department announced Tuesday that at approximately 11:40 a.m., there were reports of a transient person–identified as Todd Fields, 37, of Lancaster–trespassing on the Pacific Grove High School campus.

Police say that staff responded immediately by contacting the person, who then proceeded to threaten the staff member. School staff said that they didn’t see any weapons on the person but 911 was still called.

Staff said they continued to monitor the suspect by following him until PGPD officers responded from the area of Sunset Dr. and Congress Ave.

Does Traffic Safety Mean Removing Crosswalks?

Don’t cross at Pine Avenue at Fountain, go find another. Sure, detour to 15th street? Kids are not going to do that.

The city is expected to hear a report from the traffic engineer who believes it was the right call to remove a crosswalk students would normally use.

He says it’s safer, but parents say otherwise.

Three crosswalks were previously consolidated into one crosswalk at Pine Avenue and 15th street, but there is debate that three is safer.

“They have to go way out of their way to cross at a safe spot and I know some middle schoolers aren’t going to do that,” Sally Jones a resident of Pacific Grove said. “It just makes sense to put it back the crosswalk.”

I agree with the commenter there, not having heard of it defined that way. It’s more like resistance to drag queen shows, DEI, perverted teachers and other woke lessons.

Resident Mike Gibbs — who reviewed parts of the sex
ed curricula at the district office — said he was surprised to find that the course contained internet links to Planned Parenthood pages on sex toys with photos and descriptions on how to use them, and a “How do you know how to orgasm?” tutorial, which contained a video.

Following the complaints that have occurred over the past  month, a Planned Parenthood Mar Monte official sent a terse message to PGUSD saying it’s not allowed to let the public see the course.

Riley “Lucifer” Elvin Ordered To Stay Away

Riley Elvin is in Monterey County Jail on multiple charges, but school administrators said they fear Elvin could try to make good on his threats when he is eventually released. On Nov. 21 at 10:45 a.m., Elvin, 28, trespassed on the P.G. High School campus, entered the library and asked the
librarian for a student ID card.
