The Monterey County District Attorney’s Office and Pacific Grove Police say Todd Daniel Fields, 37, went onto school grounds on Sept. 23 without permission. When P.G. Fields “did willfully and unlawfully threaten to commit a crime which would result in the death and great bodily injury to Joseph D’Amico,”

Needs to be more. Oh, and school officials need to call the cops more when strangers wander into the school.

The Pacific Grove man who threatened to kill the principal of P.G. High last year has pleaded guilty to a trespassing charge in exchange for prosecutors dropping three other criminal charges against him. While the crime calls for a maximum of three years in jail, it’s possible he could get a reduced sentence.

Elvin repeatedly trespassed at P.G. schools, including walking inside P.G. Middle with a backpack while class was in session. School officials escorted him from the building but opted not to call police. A week later, after Elvin returned to P.G. High and threatened Garcia, P.G. Police officer Andrea Hill arrested him, and the DA’s office later charged him with the crimes. Earlier in the year, Pacific Grove Unified School District sought a restraining order against Elvin, based on a “credible threat of violence or stalking.” A judge granted the request. He has a lengthy criminal history and has been charged with dozens of crimes, including battery, assault, drug possession, lewd conduct and numerous instances of shoplifting.

While Elvin has pleaded not guilty to the crimes, his deputy public defender during a Dec. 6 court hearing in Salinas expressed doubt as to his competency and requested that he be required to undergo a psychiatric examination. Monterey County Superior Court Judge Pamela Butler agreed.

What are the schools doing to keep the children and faculty safe when whackos like this are free to wander in? Are they more interested in Elvin’s pronouns than why he is there?

School officials said Elvin first walked onto the high school campus Nov. 14 at about 10:25 a.m. and entered the middle school about 20 minutes later. He walked around upstairs while class was in session and reportedly told school staff he was there to inquire about his daughter, “Lucifer,”

Riley Elvin, 24, and Jorge Cisneros, 22, were housed in
Monterey County Jail on felony charges of robbery, drug
possession, probation violation and other crimes.

A couple of guys went into the store acting suspiciously and attempted to steal some alcohol and products from the store,” Lakind said. “They were confronted by an employee, and they took off running and were arrested a few blocks away.”

What would have been shoplifting became a robbery charge when the men tangled with the employee who tried stop them.
