Globalism Setting In: Holman Highway Roundabout

How can these things work in our liberal area? No Left Turns, only turn right?

Blondie Roundabout

The agency says the Holman Highway roundabout project will be built to relieve congestion near Holman Highway and Highway 1 while also improving access to Pacific Grove, Pebble Beach and Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. The project is a public-private partnership between the city of Monterey, Pebble Beach Co., TAMC, Monterey County, Caltrans and the Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District.

P.G. authors pen a book that shows a dislike of republicans’ ideas and get fired from an R.V. Association. Most RVs in that association must be of the 6 figure luxury slide out variety and not the used up school bus of crispy critters kind.

Baker said the group suspended the Herzogs’ media tour on June 29. The decision was “difficult,” but the organization’s principals are “nonpartisan” on both federal and state levels.

Baker said the organization has to focus on building and maintaining positive working relationships on both sides of the aisle on legislative and regulatory issues

“As spokespersons for (RVIA), the Herzogs’ decision to merchandise a book that does not meet the nonpartisan position of our organization distracted from our core values of political neutrality,” said Baker in the statement.

The Herzogs were shocked by the decision. They were five days into a 50-day media tour when the news hit.

Museum Degenerates Into Art Gallery

Dream Sign Gone

Sounds familiar, a showcase of history gets re-written. The Chief of the Tidepool Police wanted to turn the P.G. Mvsevum into an art gallery.

Formerly known as the Museum of Monterey, the newly-remodeled museum will now be home to Dali17, a permanent exhibit of 543 Dali works which is said to be the second largest private collection of Dali art in the United States and the first of its kind on the West Coast. It includes original etchings, mixed media, lithographs, sculptures and tapestries of the artist who lived in Monterey off and on for seven years in the 1940s.

Water Conservation Means 15% Rate Hikes

With Cal Am, the customers lose both ways. Use too much and get a fine. Use too little and get a rate hike. And everyone wants to build more hotels, eh?

“Our customers have done such a great job at saving water,” said Catherine Stedman, Cal Am manager of external affairs. “We have fixed costs to maintain the water system, so when you’re selling less water, then that price per unit of water will need to increase.”

Cal Am said to help make up for the shortfall, its requesting a 15 percent rate increase for customers on the Monterey Peninsula.

Gary Ozuna allegedly called the customer a “Nazi Redneck Bitch”. And I wonder if he has a license to play copyrighted material in public?

“I politely said, ‘$26 seems like an awful lot to me, are you sure that is correct?’” Raph said.

Ozuna calculated the amount again and came up with the same figure. “He said ‘Yep, $26. That’s what it is,’” according to Raph.“I said, ‘OK, at these prices it would be really nice to get a local’s discount because we have lived here for 20 years,” said Raph, 54. “I didn’t think it was too much to mention.”

With Led Zeppelin music playing on the shop’s speakers in the background, Raph said, Ozuna responded by saying,
‘Well, you can thank George Bush and Dick Cheney, the Nazis, for that,’” she recounted.

PG High Teacher Ken Ottmar Given 45 Day Notice

Jocks. Sheeshe.

Ottmar, who worked as a sports reporter for the Monterey Herald until 2008, began working for the high school that same year.

In the nine-page letter, district administrators describe misconduct that dates back to his early years at the school. The allegations say that he described his private life and sexual fantasies to students, that he left students unsupervised, that he allowed students to drive his children using his car, that he came to classes smelling of alcohol, that he allowed students to consume alcohol at his home, that he held inappropriate meetings with female students, that he displayed favoritism toward certain female students, and that he made inappropriate and sexually suggestive comments to female students.

Morro Bay chief Amy Christey takes the hot seat at PGPD.

PGPD Help Wanted

“Chief Christey’s hands-on approach to community policing, her emphasis on customer service, her understanding of the needs of a small-town coastal community and her track record as a team player makes her a terrific fit for our Police Department, the municipal organization and the community,” Harvey said.

Vicki Myers served as Pacific Grove’s police chief before Belcher took over on an interim basis in December 2015. She served in a dual role as chief of Pacific Grove and Seaside from 2012 until Pacific Grove terminated its contract with Seaside pertaining to Myers running its police department in September 2015 and gave her a 90-day notice.

Tom Frutchey, who has since left his role as Pacific Grove city manager, told The Herald last year that the split was fairly amicable. He cited two “no-confidence” votes by the Pacific Grove police union and a citywide survey that found residents would like to keep its own separate police department as reasons for the city moving on from Myers.

Surfer Rescues Kayaker At Asilomar

Tyler Scheid from Carmel is the hero.

As Scheid paddled out, the kayaker tried to reach shore but the kayak capsized. Scheid said he paddled over to the man, got him on his surfboard and paddled to shore.

Scheid said the man told him he had been out on the water overnight because he couldn’t make it through the surf to shore. Fire department personnel gave him aid. Scheid said the man was hypothermic and dehydrated.
