The original World Savings barely had time to change the name to Wachovia, then was bought by Wells Fargo and closed.
John Denver Plaque Finally Installed
Not much fuss over it by the community. It’s been three years since it started, and yes, there was a NIMBY that opposed it. It is closer to the actual crash site, unlike another memorial tree at Lovers Point.

Pollacci Rape Trial: Woman Lies!
Phone records. Knowing the quality of cell coverage in downtown P.G. I would not take them as evidence. Defense has nothing to go on but to attack the victim.
Defense attorney Andy Liu said phone records and science show she didn’t arrive at the store until after closing and then drank about 10 glasses of wine before she fell from a second-story loft about 2a.m.
Council Votes In Favor Of Desal, Higher Water Bills
When you find yourself paying $150 a month for water, remember who to thank.
Saying the Peninsula has waited long enough for a solution to its water supply, the Pacific Grove City Council voted Wednesday to endorse the Regional Water Project, which calls for a desalination plant run by a public agency to be a source for California American Water.
The vote was 5-2, with Councilwomen Lisa Bennett and Deborah Lindsay dissenting.
Agha vs. Potter, Nadir Not Happy, Wants To Take His Ball And Go Home
Agha the wannabe developer cannot even manage his political donations correctly!
Peninsula developer Nader Agha, whose complaint against Supervisor Dave Potter over a disputed $10,000 campaign contribution went nowhere with the state’s political watchdog agency, has now filed a civil lawsuit charging Potter with fraud and breach of contract.
In the suit filed April 12 in Monterey County Superior Court, Agha alleges that Potter solicited the contribution in January 2004, requested that it be made out to his campaign manager as a loan and subsequently used the money for personal use. Agha’s suit seeks $10,000 with interest and punitive damages..

Pollacci Rape Trial: Woman Fell From Stairs
Arguments appear to be over whether she fell on her own or Pollacci struck her. What if she was running away in fear and fell?
Two experts testified Tuesday that the woman allegedly raped by Thomas Pollacci in his father’s Pacific Grove liquor store was critically injured in a fall, not by being struck by an object.
The fact that Jane Doe 5 had a laceration on the left side of her head, but internal brain injuries only on the right side, showed her head was moving when it struck a stationary object, not the other way around, according to Dr. Joseph Cohen, chief pathologist for Riverside County, and Bahram Ravani, a UC Davis biomechnical engineering professor.
Pollacci Rape Trial: Tommy’s Lawyer Attacks
Jane Doe # 5 is suing the Pollaccis? GO GIRL!!
Liu told jurors in his opening statement that his client and the woman had consensual sex and that she then fell from the second-story loft where they had been drinking wine together. Too embarrassed to admit she had sex with Pollacci, a registered sex offender, she made up the story and has since filed a federal lawsuit against Pollacci and his family, Liu said.
To Stoned To Decide, Council Waits On Marijuana Store Application
Pass it around.
A report by city staff on permitting medical marijuana establishments in Pacific Grove can’t be done by the May 5 deadline, and City Manager Thomas Frutchey will ask the City Council Wednesday to give staff members until July 7 to submit a report.

Pollacci Rape Trial: Victim 3
Hear-old wrote that Defense Attorney Andy Lui wanted her arrested and brought to court to testify. Is that right?
The woman was subpoenaed to testify early Tuesday, but did not appear. Investigators testified she was angry about how she was treated at the preliminary hearing in the 1992 case.
Investigator Adam Sepegan said the woman felt Pollacci’s defense attorney made her out to be a “whore” on cross-examination and the prosecutor had done nothing to defend her.
The woman testified in 1992 that she believed Pollacci drugged her after he brought her home from a first date at Rocky Point Restaurant. She was angry he drank a large amount of alcohol and suggested that he should go home, but he walked her into her apartment.
She told police she got a glass of water and went to her bedroom to change. When she came out, she drank some of the water, she said. She testified she awoke the next morning thinking she was having a dream, only to realize Pollacci engaged in sex with her.
