Police say, forty-five year old Allan Jay Novitsky, from Southern California, broke into a home on Ocean View Boulevard in Pacific Grove Wednesday. The home-owners came inside during the burglary and that’s when police say Novitsky took off running with cash and jewelry.

Oil Struck In P.G.
An oil pollution spill in Pacific Grove discovered 21 years ago may finally be cleaned up this fall.
Oil seeping from the old Grove Laundry building was first discovered in 1986 by Edward and Margaret McCoy, whose property at 164 12th St. is adjacent and downhill from the old site.
The old laundry building once housed boilers fired by bunker oil that was stored in underground sumps on the property at Lighthouse Avenue and 12th Street. The leak was discovered after part of the building was torn down.
Oil that is. Black gold. Texas tea . . . they could turn this thing around, eh?
David Dilworth Again Blathering His Feelings As Truth

In the Sept. 8 letters, as well as all over the local nightly news, David Dilworth repeatedly says without attribution:
“University of California insect scientists tell us that the huge Santa Cruz infestation areas could not have occurred in just a few months. The moth has probably been here for years — and done little noticeable damage.”
Well, here, with attribution, is what UC actually says:

Don’t believe a thing this uneducated attention whore says. He cannot back it up, let alone know that an “insect scientist” is called an Entomologist.
Nichol Lynn Feurer’s Husband Died From Smothering
A former Seaside High School teacher accused of killing her elderly companion was in court Tuesday, and officials revealed how her companion died.
The report also indicated that Cupita “sustained forceful pressure on his chest while being smothered.”
For Or Against – The Moth Spraying Goes Off On Time
On Sunday night, airplanes dropped the pheromone solution over areas of Marina and Seaside.
The spray does not kill the pest but confuses male light brown apple moths, keeping them from mating and reproducing.
State officials say the eradication project is necessary to protect hundreds of plants and crops the moths feed upon.
The potential cost of damages if the moth is not controlled could surge into the millions of dollars, according to state officials.
Residents in the area have expressed concern over potential ill effects the spray could have and people, animals and the environment.
No Beauty School For Vacant Theater
Basing its decision primarily on the lack of parking downtown, the city’s planning commission voted Aug. 16 not to issue a use permit for a Paul Mitchell Partner Beauty School, which would have occupied the 12,000 square-foot building at 525 and 527 Lighthouse Ave.
In July, Jeanne Combs wrote a letter to Mayor Dan Cort opposing the Paul Mitchell school, saying it could be harmful to similar local businesses because beauty schools typically offer discounted rates for haircuts, manicures and other services.
In other words – Similar Local Businesses charge too much for too little. Guess this idea would not go over . .
That’s one downtown business that would bring more people to P.G. than all the bistros and taco places combined . . yummm The Cheesecake Factory.
What Do Triathletes Truly Fear Most?
More than sharks or poo-poo in the water.
It’s the kelp-clogged waters and cold temperatures that worry competitors in this year’s Triathlon at Pacific Grove — not possible shark attacks.
Team member Sia Karamalegos said sharks are found regularly along the Gulf Coast. “Probably more so than here,” she said. “I think we will be all right, as long as we’re not the slowest ones out there. Or the first ones.”
Art Galleries On The Wane?
Let’s hope so. Sitting empty (next to another storefront that’s been vacant since April) is Edward Welter gallery.
Some say that galleries really do nothing for the town’s economy. They are closed more than the are open and generate less sales tax than retail would.
David Stamm Again – Police Claim Child Porn Found On Computers
. . police conducted a search warrant on Stamm’s residence and business and recovered a series of computers. Investigators later discovered the child pornography on one of the computers, according to Pesenhofer.
More Charges
Another count charges Stamm with dissuading a witness.

David Russell Stamm, 45, of Pacific Grove was arrested Monday with four counts of lewd acts with a minor that police say took place in 2000 and 2001.

Country Club Gate is where Black Forest Coffee is, along with the best taqueria – Michael s, the best market – Save Mart and the best pizza – Domino’s.
It’s been written here before – the mass of PG leaders does not acknowledge the southernmost part of PG, the forbidden zone that lies beyond that stoplight at Sunset & Forest. It’s all “Grove Market this” and “Art Gallery that” when thinking about P.G. services and businesses.
