Pebble Beach Golf Shuttle Shuffle

Welcome To The Crosby
Used to be you could drive into Pebble and park on the polo grounds or brave the soggy lots to park, or reward the young capitalists that ran private parking lots in their parents’ driveways. These days they keep most of the spectators’ cars out of the forest and make you ride buses into the event.

The best bus ride looks to be the Cannery Row shuttle. $10 for rides from Cannery Row parking garages to and from Pebble. $7 to park the car in the garage right next to the bus stop.

Keep driving past the CSUMB/Fort Ord 12th Street exit by Kohls & Best Buy. Exit on Aquajito Road. Keep going after MPC, land in Monterey or Cannery Row. If you are staying in P.G. head over to Cannery Row. You will be closer to some welcome services when you get back from crawling the course.

Next is the same deal in Downtown Monterey. Park in the garages on Tyler street and ride to Pebble.

Bad deal is the Pacific Grove Chamber Of Commerce. $15 to board a bus at the Mvsevm. There is no parking near the stop, you have to compete with locals to park in their neighborhood. When you return, you will be in the ghost town that is Pacific Grove.

Dreadful is the Fort Ord CSUMB route. Sure, it’s the first sign you see coming into town and it an easy on/off the freeway. But it’s out in the middle of nowhere (Marina).

Arsonist Pleads Guilty In Tattoo Shop & Restaurant Fires

In all the news articles reporting on this there is no mention whatsoever of the suspicious fire at the David Avenue apartment complex that happened around the same time.

Nathan Augustine, age 28 of Pacific Grove, pled guilty to two counts of arson and admitted using an incendiary device.

Police searched Augustine’s house and found numerous containers of lighter fluid, gloves similar to gloves found at the Lattitudes Restaurant, and the unique symbol similar to the British Union Jack with additional lines through it. Augustine was arrested and confessed to the crimes.

In photos from the museum, the men are seen switching the caps on wax figures. Sonne said several of the figures were broken.

Police said the first suspect is a white male, 19- to 22-years old, 5-feet-8 inches tall, 160 pounds and either bald or with very short light colored hair. The other is also a white male, 21 to 25-years-old, 5 -feet 11-inches tall, 170 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair, police said.

No Smoking On The Rec Trail

Now try and enforce it.
No Smoking Dogs

Tuesday, the Monterey City Council unanimously approved an updated ordinance regulating smoking in public places. The changes were intended to bring city law into line with state law.
… the city ordinance prohibits smoking on the Monterey Recreational Trail, beaches, enclosed buildings open to the public, including covered parking garages; buses, taxicabs, shuttles and other public transportation; city owned vehicles, outdoor service areas, including ATM lines, ticket lines, bus stops and transit depot waiting areas; and any location which the property or business owner declares to be non-smoking.

Lighthouse Ave Pot Club Told To Close

“Dave’s Not Here!”
No Pot Club

When the city requested more information as to the nature of the business they claim that they were told the business would retail ” various health and beauty products, natural vitamins, aroma therapy products, and instruction books and DVDs.”

“Unfortunately, the information provided to the Planning Division was not complete,” said City Manager Fred Cohn. The city learned through media reports that MyCaregiver was operating as a Medical Marijuana Dispensary.

Monterey is also threatening the building’s owners with a daily fine.

The MyCaregiver Co-op Inc. at 554 Lighthouse Ave. began serving a clientele of 45 medical marijuana users in November and membership has since gone to 70, said John Rico, a MyCaregiver director.

He contends MyCaregiver doesn’t need a permit from the city to operate because it is a private club, benefiting only its members, and exempt from the city permit and licensing process.

City Attorney Deborah Mall said a retail sales business license for that address was applied for and granted, “but they didn’t say it was a medical marijuana facility.”

A marijuana facility, she said, “is not a permitted use in any zone of the city.”
