An elderly woman from Monterey shot herself to death Tuesday in a Pacific Grove park, according to authorities.
Pacific Grove Police said that a passerby found the body of the 77-year-old woman, whose name has not been released, in Higgins Park at Forest and David avenues at
about 7:40 a.m. Police responded after getting a report of an “unconscious subject lying on the ground.” “When officers and firefighters arrived, they found a female subject suffering from a gunshot wound and unresponsive,” police said. “Paramedics declared the female subject deceased at the scene, and officers held the scene until the coroner arrived.”

Another Perv Bails Out On Suicide – David Stamm Found Dead

Monterey County District Attorney Jeannine M. Pacioni announced today that David Russel Stamm, age 59, of Pacific Grove, was found dead on October 30, 2021 in Red Bluff, California of an apparent suicide.
The defendant faced charges of committing lewd acts on a child under the age of 14. It was alleged that in the summer of 2005, the defendant committed lewd and lascivious acts on John Doe #1.
These acts involved inappropriate touching as well as encouragement by the defendant to have John Doe #1 masturbate with a sex toy in the defendant’s presence. It was also alleged that in 1998 and 1999 the defendant committed lewd and lascivious acts with John Doe #2 by masturbating and orally copulating him. The defendant faced additional enhancements for committing a sex offence against more than one victim and for substantial sexual conduct with a victim under the age of 14. The defendant faced a maximum indeterminant sentence of 90 years to life in prison.
Rapist Pollacci Died In Jail

Convicted Rapist Tom Pollacci, who served consecutive prison terms for two rape convictions before being released from Valley State Prison in June, died in his cell at Monterey County Jail last Thursday night, according to the sheriff’s office. Pollacci, 62, had been transferred straight from state prison to the county jail and was being held while the district attorney’s office tried to get him committed to a state hospital as a sexually violent predator. Monterey County Sheriff’s Cmdr. Derrel Simpson said this week that Pollacci’s death is still being investigated but appears to be a suicide.
“He had hung himself,” he continued.
Body Found At Shore Was Suicide

Suicide was determined to be the cause of death of a 56-year-old man whose body was found late last month near the ocean in Pacific Grove, a commander with the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office told the Pine Cone this week.
At about 12:30 p.m., officials recovered the body of the man on the west side of Ocean View Boulevard across from Crespi Pond near a vehicle turnout. While the cause
of death, at that time, was not known, foul play was not suspected.
Washington Park Suicide Was In The Restroom
Alicia Austin used a handgun to end her life at about 8:05 p.m. May 16 in a bathroom at George Washington Park, according to Pacific Grove Police. Numerous young children and teenagers were in the park at the time.
“We received a call of a shot heard in the area of George Washington Park,” said police Cmdr. Tom Uretsky. “As one of our officers was responding to that, he saw some juveniles running out of the park. They had gone into the restroom and had found the victim there.”
Uretsky declined to say what type of gun was used. He also wouldn’t say whether the woman died in the men’s or women’s restroom for fear it would become a “tourist attraction” for curiosity seekers.
Suicide in Washington Park
Alicia Austin’s body was discovered by teenagers at about 8 p.m. Friday at the park after they heard a gunshot, according to police. A handgun was found with the woman’s body and an investigation concluded that she took her own life, police said.
