Specifically, the proposed ordinance would amend municipal code to prohibit what are deemed “non-household animals” within the city and would clarify the responsibility by pet owners to keep and feed their animals in a way that “maintains a safe and healthy environment for residents, visitors and animals.” According to city officials, the revisions were needed to clarify permitting requirements, allocate responsibilities for feeding and harboring animals and streamlining the process for enforcement of policy related to animals within city limits.

“It clarifies what is allowed and what isn’t allowed,” said City Manager Ben Harvey, who said that barnyard farm animals would no longer be allowed.

Lisa claims her neighbor tried to sabotage their efforts to keep their pig. even photoshopping feces into pictures of their backyard to use against them. After more complaints, yesterday the city yesterday decided the pig must be moved outside the city and the family must pay the city nearly 500 dollars in administrative costs. The Hanes family is appealing the decision.

In the ongoing controversy of a citizen with a pet pig, elitist city leaders call them “pig people” just like Runaway Mayor Dan Cort called a resident a moron.

Hanes also said it’s the way the city has handled the situation that has she and her family upset. According to Hanes, the city has tried to build a case against the family and referred to them in a derogatory manner, labeling them the “pig people” in some of the city correspondence. Councilwoman Casey Lucius has even spoken up on behalf of the family.
