Who wants to die from oil injected into their butt?

Martha Mata Vasquez, 39, likely will be ordered to serve 15 years in prison under the plea deal with prosecutors. She initially faced a charge of second-degree murder in the death of Olivia Castillo, of Castroville. Prosecutors said Vasquez injected Castillo in the buttocks with corn oil, claiming it was an anti-wrinkle treatment she called “French Polymer.”

Stick with drawing eyebrows with a Sharpee, that’s not lethal.

Jason Chioino Files Claims Against County

County supervisors have denied two claims brought Tuesday afternoon by Jason Chioino, who is facing trial on three counts of possessing drugs with intent to sell.

One claim seeks compensation for allegedly being exposed to asbestos in the Salinas Courthouse. The second claim asserts that the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office improperly restrained Chioino, physically harming him.

Chioino’s record includes felony convictions for kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon and breaking and entering. He has served two prison terms.

Chioino is awaiting a Nov. 9 hearing to set the date of his jury trial. He is representing himself, said prosecutor Anne Hill.

Concerned that he have been exposed to asbestos but uses meth? Can’t brush his teeth while shackled is the other reason, he has teethe after using meth? Sounds like the American Criminal Liberties Union is recruiting out at CJ.

This man was allegedly caught in PG with a pound of Meth. And now of a sudden he is all concerned about his health? I got a big claim in return – endangering me an my family by bringing dangerous drugs and their users to my town. The compensation? Lock him up for life.

Pebble Beach Worker Killed In Work Accident

An employee of the Pebble Beach Co. died after a workplace accident Friday, the Monterey County Coroner’s Office reported.

Cristobal Reynoso, 45, was working on a large lawn mower in the company’s maintenance shop at 7:25 a.m. when a 500-pound “blade wing” fell on top of him, causing fatal head injuries, the coroner said.

Authorities said Reynoso failed to lock the mower’s blade before it fell. He was taken to Community Hospital, where he died in the emergency room.

How To Pay Back The Golf Fund

Pacific Grove city staff members will be looking for ways to repay more than $1 million taken from the city’s golf enterprise fund during the past several years that was moved to three other city funds.

The City Council’s decision late Wednesday was based on a partially completed audit released by the Harvey Rose Accountancy Corp. earlier this month.

The auditors found that all money in each of the city’s 24 funds was accounted for. But it showed that several inter-fund loans were made without the consent or knowledge of past councils, and without proper documentation, including the transfer of more than $1 million from the city’s golf course enterprise fund to its sewer service, workers’ compensation and Chautauqua Hall funds.

Well some suggestions I’ve heard:
More metered parking.
Turn the shoreline into an RV park.
Nude 2007 City Council Calendars.
Tax churches.
Tax real estate transfers.

Golf Money Loaned To Other PG Funds In 2003

More than $1 million was transferred from Pacific Grove’s golf enterprise fund to three other city funds, according to a partial audit report released this month.

Among other issues, the report by the Harvey Rose Accountancy Corp. focused on fund-to-fund loans, specifically more than $1 million of golf course enterprise money loaned to three other city funds as of June 30, 2003.

Hear-old reported it as 2005 – a serious error.

Where’d They Hide The Body?

Sam The Sham Farr and the case of the missing opponent.

During his three decades in public office, Rep. Sam Farr, D-Carmel, has experienced election campaigns and political opponents of nearly every stripe. He’s faced serious challenges and less-serious challenges, mainstream-party opponents and alternative-party opponents.

But even the veteran Farr has never faced an opponent quite like Anthony DeMaio.

That’s because after filing late and running unopposed in the Republican primary, DeMaio has all but disappeared. The phantom candidate hasn’t answered repeated phone calls and e-mails seeking comment.

Sounds like the making of a conspiracy – what did they do with DeMaio?
Sam The Sham has been on the radio lately, whining about housing costs and the lack of affordable housing in his area. If he thinks he can do something about it WHY DID HE LET IT GET THIS MESSED UP TO BEGIN WITH?

Parking Meters On The Avenue?

Controversial article – it started when a letter from the editor in the Hear-Old ranted about the police not enforcing parking at businesses on Lighthouse Avenue. Though that writer was incorrect about the police involvement (Nob Hill and Longs Drugs parking lots are private property – enforcement is up to the property owners), it brought to my attention that parking limits were not being enforced or being selectively enforced in PG. It appeared that businesses owners and their employees were taking up a large amount of parking spaces on the Avenue and side streets where time limited parking is posted. It’s not hard to see – many of the cars have the store names on them, they can be seen every day, often in the same parking spaces.

Here’s the Favaloro’s GMC truck right in front of the (now out of business) restaurant.Parking Favaloro Truck

Later the same truck, now minus it’s door signs is always seen on Grand just below Lighthouse:

And again with the Favaloros Mitsubishi that is always downtown:Parking Favaloro Truck 3

In December they hid it over behind the closed down theater. Would they choose to park in any of the 24 hour spots in the lot? No, it’s in a 2 hour spot.

The Favaloros must also have this Suburban.\

This Mitsubishi once sported signs on it’s doors for Cafe Ariana. Since the first posting, the signs have been removed.

In the same block is the Victorian Corner. The streets are full of cars from that business too. This Chevy truck is always parked on Fountain:

Also seen is the Victorian Corner Tahoe:

And the Victorian Corner Jag:

In the next block is the Oh Flowers van:

They have since closed and move to a lower rent area. Still the same? Yep, still the same.

Also we have the Bratty Real Estate office. It’s workers take the 20 minute spots with a pickup truck:

Grand Avenue Art Works – did they champion to have the curb in front of their place painted yellow so people might see them? If that’s not enough, they borrow a tactic from Cafe Ariana – magnet signs on the car doors making a parked rolling billboard.Parking Grand Ave Art Works

Hazaras Magic Carpets has a van that is sometimes in the diagonals:

Or over on Forest where they go outside and smoke:

Chili Great Chili parks it’s van in the center – outside the defined parking spaces, making it hard for emergency vehicles to navigate the narrow street.

Then the Chili Great Chili pickup is in the 20 minute zone:

Just south of Harzara is St Vinnies. City Councilman Ron Schenk works there. Parks his Jeep in front during campaign time, better advertising.

Also on the campaign trail is Susan Goldbeck. She cannot find the energy to carry her political paraphernalia back to her car, so she double parks. Blocking the handicap spot.Goldbeck Double Park

The post office is also a place the cops could rake in the tickets. This BMW driver can afford to park in the red zone:

So can the Cadillac owner that takes up two half-spaces:

The point made is that it appears that parking enforcement is lax. If we don’t want meters to feed all day, get the parking patrol out and write some tickets.
