Lighthouse Avenue’s perpetual store closing, liquidation, going out of business, quitting, lost our lease, emergency clearance store in the Lane Furniture location.
This year is no different:
Wait! No it’s an EMERGENCY and re-opens.
In Summer 2007 they closed forever again.
Spring 2007, with the biggest signs ever, they promised the store was closing for good.
And ducking the meter maid. Saw them checking the tires.
Moved over to Forest Ave, empty since Green’s Camera closed in September 2008. The namesake street is looking very vacant. The Cottage Style next door in the old Grove building shut down July and is still empty.

Not even new, it’s another rearranging of the deck chairs.
Good News! A New Store Is Opening – oh, it’s just more used clothes
Anybody want to tell the world where this great family restaurant was in Pacific Grove?
The patch of trail at the bottom of Forest Avenue is completed. Nice fake rocks support the repaired section.
There’s a board at the bottom of the post & rail fence to keep small critters from sliding under. Also note the removal of the defined walking path. The decomposed granite is gone.
Our own little slice of dirty hippy culture. Hate to say we told you so, but it’s starting to look like a meth-lab/rats nest. Time to call the landlord – Greg Beardsley.

Exposed 110 volt wires & dead landscaping. Old plants tossed on the ground is not “composting”.

More refuse piled up against building. Lead acid batteries at the bottom of the pile.
Tiki Torches. With the global warmth petro-chemical fluid leaking out onto the ground.
Rusty unmarked containers.
In 2003, voters approved Measure A, a parcel tax used to assist with the funding of the programs currently in place but that is due to expire. Measure X is an extension of the existing parcel tax and will not raise property taxes. Without Measure X, many of these programs will need to be reduced or eliminated.
So there’s $6,000,000 for a new stadium
And we have $1,700,000 to replace the school district offices (which would end up being good enough for students)
Before voting to keep sending them more money, ask where they get all the millions for these things?
Another gallery dries up and blows away. Never went there, never needed to. Won’t miss it.
