Pimp My Golf Course

The Pacific Grove City Council will consider Tuesday a new marketing plan for the city’s golf course in an effort to generate more revenue.

New marketing would include a revamped website, ad campaigns in other cities, and partnerships with local hotels. For regular players, the golf course doesn’t need much help.

Pebble Beach Art Theft Suspect Pens 30 Page Manifesto

Screwball

This story gets more weird every time it resurfaces. The cops are likely to close in soon with the help of the “victims”.

In the latest from the alleged Pebble Beach art Heist Saga, due to “an unauthorized, unsupervised memo about Prosecutorial Misconduct”, Vicki St. John has dropped both Angelo Amadio and Dr. Ralph Kennaugh as clients.

As a result of his actions, St. John says that Amadio is no longer her certified law student due to his violation of the California Bar rules governing the practical training of law students. St. John also says that she notified the California State Bar about the unauthorized memo.

Entire text of the memo available here.

Holiday Shopping Bust In P.G.

There have been a lot of people looking not necessarily shopping, there have been some days that’s very quite and I’m assuming that they are at the malls.

Bigger stores, bigger sales, and bigger holes in downtown Pacific Grove shops and for Dianne Lovejoy who owns two consignment shops, she’s had to do more to bring people in.

“It has made it necessary to have big sales even though this is a resale store and you are starting out at a quarter or a third less of original retail was were still having to have 50% off sales to get the people in the door,” said Lovejoy.

Who wants used clothes for Xmas? Ick.

P.G. Joins Cities Forming Police Army

This new joint SWAT team is not just for everyday crime fighting, but major emergencies and tactical situations, but if you’re thinking Salinas is involved you’d be wrong. It’s actually on the Monterey Peninsula.

Sand City, Seaside, and Cal State Monterey Bay have all approved the team. Pacific Grove, Carmel, Marina, and Monterey all have the item on their upcoming city council agendas.

Deck The Halls With Advertising, What’s The Use Of Compromising

Title lifted from Stan Freberg

All are invited to ring in the holiday-shopping season during Friday Night Lights. Families of all ages are encouraged to bring their little ones to visit Santa Claus and enjoy music and dancing from local entertainers, artists and school groups.

Holiday Shopping Season? Is someone missing the point? Maybe gift-giving season would be more thoughtful, but this piece of non-news must have been written by clueless Moe.

High Surf Advisory, What To Do? I Know, Let’s Go Fishing!

Lets go fishing off the coast in a 15 foot boat! Twenty foot high waves were crashing. Huh?

I sure hope these two get a full bill from the state for the cost of their stupidity.

Two fishermen were rescued Sunday morning after their boat capsized in rough waters off Asilomar Point.

One of the fishermen was injured as he was trying to get back to shore and was taken to a hospital; the other fisherman was treated on the scene.
