Narrow street, lucky no homes caught fire.
A vehicle fire at 10 p.m. Sunday involving a 2000 Ford F-150 extended-cab pickup is being investigated as a possible arson, according to the Pacific Grove Police Department.
PG Police and Monterey Fire responded to the fire on the 200 block of Eighth Street in Pacific Grove and found the pick-up fully engulfed in flames.

Pacific Grove police arrested a 15-year-old boy Saturday on suspicion of setting a fire near Forest Grove Elementary School.
The fire was reported about 4 p.m. Friday in the Rip Van Winkle Open Space in the 1000 block of Congress Avenue, police said in a news release.

Four apartment units were severely damaged, three cars were destroyed and 20 to 30 people have been displaced. The American Red Cross is helping the residents and a temporary shelter has been set up at Hilltop Community Center in Monterey.
The origin of the fire is considered “suspicious” and it is under investigation by the Monterey Police and the Monterey Fire Departments.

Police said a Molotov cocktail was found on the roof of the restaurant at 631 Oceanview Blvd., near Lovers Point.
Pacific Grove Police and Monterey Fire personnel discovered the incendiary device after they arrived about 5:50 a.m. to find the building’s roof on fire. Crew extinguished the blaze in 10 minutes. Police officials declined to say if an arrest was imminent.

A KSBW News camera man woke up just before 4 a.m. Monday, police said, and headed outside because he had forgotten to bring his equipment and camera inside. He went to his parked KSBW Jeep Liberty to pick up his things when he saw the fire and called police, Pacific Grove police said.
The rear bumper was on fire and the gas cap was off, they said.
Police said the camera man filmed the emergency teams’ response.
Ah, there’s a media-man all the way. Don’t take a fire extinguisher and put out the fire, pick up the camera and film the burning car . .

Pacific Grove police are investigating a car fire caused by a firebomb. The case is the second firebombing of a car in 4 months. The fire was discovered when the owner of the car heard an explosion late at night and found her car on fire. Police found a container inside with a gasoline soaked rag.
