Investigators said a 31-year-old man was found naked in the street with a cut above his left eye just after midnight.

The victim said he met a man known to him as Jordan at a bus station in Sand City before they went to Sly McFly’s restaurant and took a cab to the victim’s house on Park Street.

Investigators said the victim told them he asked Jordan to wait outside while he took a shower but later found him rummaging through his property inside the house.

The victim told police Jordan fled, and the victim chased him to 19th Street, where the two began fighting, and the victim was hit and struck his head on the pavement.

Jordan Briscoe, 20, was involved in a crash Thursday. Seaside police officers recognized him as a wanted individual in the Pacific Grove incident. He was booked on charges of burglary, robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.

Del Monte Park NIMBY Group Strong As Ever

DMP Del Monte Park
Del Monte Park – land of no sidewalks, dead end streets and popular with car burglars.

I lived in DMP when Pebble Beach wanted to build a water reclamation system to irrigate the golf courses without using fresh water. The DMP NIMBY crowd went full bore opposition on that one (remember the ‘Sewer Newsletter’ that was delivered in mailboxes without postage?).

Then Pebble Beach wanted to construct a conveyor system to mine sand for the under construction Spanish Bay resort. Yep – DMP NIMBYs didn’t like that either.

Now the P.G. neighborhood that includes the Moreland/Arkwright Felony Flats is opposing affordable housing that will likely be occupied by Pebble Beach employees.

Not hiding the bias at all –

Mel Fortes said the company needs to disclose the income levels of the P.B. Co. workers who will live in the two-level townhomes, tentatively called Congress Court.
“We need to find out what kind of population we are going to have here,” he said.
That sparked a curt response from P.B. Co. vice president of real estate Mark Stilwell, who bore the brunt of anger and frustration by those at the meeting.

“Do you know all of your neighbors’ income levels?” Stilwell asked Fortes.

Stuart Elder Charges Soon?

TV Stations’s Jon replies with an update after the question is brought up in their “Ask Jon:” Feature.

The CHP tells me their reconstruction investigation has been completed. It’s very extensive and takes time to crime scene investigation. The report is currently being written and I’m told that report is over 75 pages long and should be done in the next two weeks. They’ll bring it to the DA’s office and brief them on their findings. The DA’s office will review the report and file any applicable charges and that may take another week or so.

Lady Bank Robber’s Evidence

While one of our most interesting criminals, certainly not the smartest.

While Padilla pleaded not guilty to her charges, evidence found from the search warrant link her to several of the robberies.

Inside her Watsonville home police found some of the clothes she allegedly wore when she robbed the six banks including a t-shirt with “Garden Isle of Kauii” written on the front, the same shirt described in the Pismo Beach robbery. In Padilla’s car police found several hand written notes, one read “hand me all of your large bills. I will shoot you.”

Fake Gun In P.G. High Student’s Car – That’s An Arresting

Someone has to protect them against the fedora & trench coat wearing kidnappers . .

A Pacific Grove High School student was arrested Wednesday after an imitation rifle was seen in his vehicle on campus, police said.

Charles Lembo, 18, of Pebble Beach told officers he inadvertently left the airsoft gun in his car, police said. Staff members at the school saw what appeared to be a rifle “in plain view” in the vehicle about 9 a.m., police said.

Lady Bank Robber’s Motive For Serial Bank Holdups

She had financial difficulties and decided to take out a few low loans and not pay them back. Sounds like a perfect government stimulus plan.

Cristina Padilla

Cristina Padilla’s confession and other new details surrounding Padilla’s alleged crime spree are outlined in an affidavit for a search warrant that was filed by the Pacific Grove Police Department.

Padilla, 50, used the Internet to research how to rob a bank, the affidavit states.

Police searched Padilla’s apartment at 15 West Lake avenue in Watsonville and found clothing that the accused bank bandit wore when she allegedly held up banks. Also recovered from her downtown apartment were notes Padilla apparently gave to tellers in her quest to get money. One note read: “quickly hand me all of the large bills, no ones.”

The affidavit also details the note Padilla handed one bank teller in Pacific Grove which read: “This is not a joke. Don’t be a stupid. Give me all the money in your drawer. You have 1 1/2 minutes to give me all the money, then 2 men with shotguns will come in here and shoot you. Don’t be stupid.”

Her alleged crime spree began in Pacific Grove at Monterey Credit Union on New Year’s Eve. Police believe she then robbed two banks in Atascadero on Valentine’s Day.

AT$T Moves Antenna Towers To Motel

Cell antennas will replace the temporary ones that reduce dead zones at the cemetery. The radio energy paranoids have no opposition to the virtual farm of antennas atop the Holman building, free wifi at McDonalds or all those magnet induction streetlights that also emit radio waves.

The Pacific Grove City Council Aug. 21 upheld the Planning Commission’s approval of a cell-phone tower at a Lighthouse Avenue hotel, despite objections from activists who argued the radio frequencies could harm nearby adults, children at Parents Place and butterflies at the Monarch Grove Sanctuary.

The AT&T wireless telecom facility will include six 26.5-foot antennae housed within faux chimneys at The Wilkies Inn on Lighthouse Avenue, plus supporting technology. The cell tower will fill AT&T’s current coverage gap in that area of Pacific Grove.

Corvette Stolen In P.G. Back In Hands Of Its Owner

Not much involvement by police. It was widespread Internet attention that made the car too hot and led to it getting recovered.

Monahan got word late Friday from a San Jose resident who noticed the car parked near his house for about a week. The man contacted his nephew, shared a picture of the deserted car, and his nephew told him to call Monahan.

“The nephew said it looked like one that was stolen out of Pacific Grove,” Monahan said. The nephew had seen the stolen Corvette on the Internet, where the theft gained wide publicity. His uncle’s call came at 8 p.m. Friday, and Monahan hitched his trailer to his truck and was on the road two hours later.

He picked up the Corvette at 2 a.m. Saturday, got the OK from San Jose police and brought it home that morning.

Hyperbaric Chamber At P.G. Fire Station Back In Use

Story came just after a diver died at Stillwater Cove.

The chamber was not used for the diving victims Monday. They had the chamber on standby. The team was waiting for permission from physicians to admit the divers for the treatment, however one passed away, and the other diver did not show symptoms of decompression sickness. As a result, the chamber was not used.
It would have been the first time in nearly a year that this chamber would have been used again. It is one of the three in the whole state of California. There is one in San Diego, and one in Catalina. The chamber was temporarily not in use here because of insurance issues.
