Daniel Maniscalco went to the Pacific Grove City Council meeting Wednesday night and presented his plans for a non-profit cooperative during public comments.

The issue was not on the agenda so city council members did not address it but Mayor Carmelita Garcia said it does violate the city’s zoning codes.

Pot Club Opens On Lighthouse Avenue

Just what they need to bring more crime. Wonder what someone that woke up after a 30 year sleep would think if they just woke up and wanted to visit the Beer Springs for a sip.

The MyCaregiver Co-op Inc. at 554 Lighthouse Ave. began serving a clientele of 45 medical marijuana users in November and membership has since gone to 70, said John Rico, a MyCaregiver director.

He contends MyCaregiver doesn’t need a permit from the city to operate because it is a private club, benefiting only its members, and exempt from the city permit and licensing process.

City Attorney Deborah Mall said a retail sales business license for that address was applied for and granted, “but they didn’t say it was a medical marijuana facility.”

A marijuana facility, she said, “is not a permitted use in any zone of the city.”

Marina Just Says No To Marijuana Pharmacy

Both Marina and Seaside now have temporary moratoriums in effect against such clinics — actions prompted by inquiries last year about the possibility of locating them there.

City staff members say medical marijuana clinics wouldn’t promote Marina’s general plan policies. The clinics wouldn’t generate sale taxes and could prevent tax-generating businesses from finding space in the city.

I don’t oppose the use of pot, but these clinics are rife with corruption and attract crime to the area.

Grow your own.

A Store For Ghetto Life Busted For Drugs

Well that was bound to happen.

On Wednesday, officers arrested Alicia Lewis, 32, owner of the store on Broadway Avenue, and Shaka Fitzgerald, 31, on suspicion of possessing marijuana with intent to sell. Both suspects live in Marina.

Officers searching the store said they discovered marijuana stowed inside shoes for sale. Police said they found four digital scales, baggies, cash and a loaded semi-automatic pistol.

Ghettotech

Won’t be long until one opens on Lighthouse among the karate schools and body piercing shops.

Pebble Beach Home Found Growing Marijuana

Law enforcement officers Thursday afternoon searched a Pebble Beach home in the 3000 block of Stevenson Drive and seized marijuana plants that had an estimated potential street value of $15,000, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office reported.

According to Dahmen, deputies with the County of Monterey Marijuana Eradication Team (COMMET) and detectives from the Narcotics Enforcement Unit County Of Monterey (NEUCOM) arrived at a single-family home at about 2:30 p.m., where they served a narcotics search warrant.

One of the home’s two occupants denied knowledge of the marijuana, and the other occupant has not yet been located, according to Dahmen.
