P.G. Man Pleads Guilty To Internet Sex Instant Messages
Homayun Ahmad pleaded guilty to federal charges related to a case of internet sex. The 37-year-old man admitted to have engaged in sexually explicit conversations on AOL instant messenger with someone he believed was a 16-year-old girl. He is expected to receive a 5-year prison sentence as part of a plea agreement.
Carmel Student Caught With Gun On Campus
Action is being taken after a gun and ammunition were seized from a 15-year-old Carmel High School student.
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Department confiscated the .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol at school on Wednesday, along with 33 rounds of ammunition. No one was hurt.
According to investigators, the gun belongs to the Carmel student’s guardian — a grandparent. The student has been suspended and will be expelled, according to officials. Both he and his guardian could face criminal charges.
And this wasn’t an isolated incident. Less than a month ago, a boy brought a gun to Pacific Grove Middle School. The gun belonged to his guardian — a Seaside police officer.
Monterey Federal Credit Union Robbed In P.G.
The Monterey Credit Union on Fountain Avenue was robbed shortly after 3:30 p.m. Monday. According to authorities, a lone robber fled the scene on foot prior to their arrival.
The robber is described as a dark skinned male in his 30s, standing 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches, with a medium build.
P.G. Man Charged With Vehicular Manslaughter
Pacific Grove Police Department reports that the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office filed vehicular manslaughter charges against Pacific Grove resident Aaron Robert Erwin Thursday.
According to the police, the charges are in connection with a traffic collision that claimed the life of a 63-year-old Pacific Grove resident who was walking in a crosswalk in December 2004.

City manager Ross Hubbard will be retiring and city attorney David Fleishman will step down from the position he has held for a little over 4 years. Both will both be leaving their posts on March 31st.
Another Domestic Disturbance In A Favaloro’s Business
Monterey County Superior Court Judge José Velasquez ruled that Angela Mazur, 66, was guilty of disturbing the peace, but said there was reasonable doubt that she had attacked her sister-in-law, Marie Favaloro.
According to Favaloro’s testimony, the quarrel stemmed from bad blood over a $25,000 loan Mazur and her husband had made to the Favaloros.
Marie Favaloro testified that Mazur “made us suffer because we didn’t pay on time.”
The Favaloros declared bankruptcy in late 1997, although the Mazurs eventually recovered $12,500 when Anthony Favaloro sold the fishing vessel Lucky Marie.
What a family! This happened at Cafe Ariana. Just two weeks ago at Favaloro’s Restaurant Anthony Favaloro was arrested for allegedly trying to choke his mother-in-law.
Car Firebombed In Pacific Grove
Pacific Grove police are investigating a car fire caused by a firebomb. The case is the second firebombing of a car in 4 months. The fire was discovered when the owner of the car heard an explosion late at night and found her car on fire. Police found a container inside with a gasoline soaked rag.
Restaurateur Favaloro Suspected Of Battery
A Pacific Grove restaurant owner was arrested on suspicion of battery following a Thanksgiving Day fracas at his business, according to police.
Police were called to Favaloro’s Italian-American Restaurant, 542 Lighthouse Ave., at 10:30 p.m. Thursday by two passers-by who told them they heard yelling coming from the restaurant and saw a man holding and choking a woman, said police Lt. Tom Uretsky.
Officers arrived and were told by a 70-year-old woman who works at the restaurant that Anthony Favaloro, 64, choked her after they argued.

The woman’s name was withheld because the incident is considered a case of domestic violence.
Although she refused medical attention, Uretsky said, officers noted significant redness and bruising on the woman’s neck, consistent with the complaint.

Woman Killed By Falling Branch In Butterfly Sanctuary
Anne Dickinson Thomas,85, of Fairport, N.Y., died Nov. 27. 2004, while hiking through the sanctuary when she was struck by a 30-foot section of the tree.
The incident forced the closure of the sanctuary for more than a year while the grove was cleared of dead trees and h branches.
