The Once A Year Passionfish Green Hoax

Lather, rinse, repeat. As long as this poof piece is reported every year, remember it’s about green in their wallets.

You should see the mountains of landfill-destined garbage and rubbish that this restaurant generates. Look at the grease encroaching the sidewalk leaking from their overflowing dumpster. See the other trash cans blocking the sidewalk. This “green” business practices is a farce.

Passionfish also holds the designation of being Monterey County’s first green certified restaurant. Cindy, the daughter of a fisherman, serves on the advisory council for the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and is a member of the Seafood Choices Alliance. During the past few years, she has been inducted into the California Restaurant Association’s Hall of Fame, been named a “California Woman of the Year” by state Assemblyman John Laird, and been among 10 finalists for the International Seafood Champion’s Award.

Jesse Crow – Murder Suspect, Medical Marijuana Card Holder

and son of a medical marijuana dispensary owner/manager. Crow was picked up in P.G.

Jesse Crow

The first search warrant served on this peaceful medicine user is at KSBW.

When police arrived, Ryan’s family had blocked Jesse’s truck in the driveway and told police they believed Jesse had a history of abusing Ryan — abuse that had gone unreported — and they suggested Jesse had a drug operation because he didn’t have a job, but he seemed to have plenty of money.

The warrant also calls attention to Crow’s father — a physician — confirming that Dr. Crow runs a medical marijuana dispensary. The warrant said it operates out of Soledad.

Buzzword For Broke: Unsustainable

What better crisis story to begin a push for yet more taxes? I’ll never vote for any tax increases as long as spending continues on follies like the ineffective Chamber Of Commerce or “ICLEI”, the Local Governments for Sustainability.

Budget ”unsustainable,” P.G. financial official says

Property tax revenues have remained steady, but sales and hotel room taxes are down, he said. Some recovery on those two sources of revenue is expected in fiscal 2012-13.

But by fiscal 2014-15, Becklenberg said, costs will begin outstripping revenues and the city will have to explore new sources of money.

Pot Smokers Protest On Lighthouse Ave

Standing in the street and on top of an old hippy VW. KSBW has several pictures on it’s site. Three out of the 5 are not even from Monterey. And one dog. They are not winning my sympathy.

Members of a Monterey cannabis club held a demonstration Monday afternoon, protesting a recent court order that prohibits them from dispensing medical marijuana at 554 Lighthouse Ave.

“We are trying to raise the public’s awareness in a positive manner,” Rowland said of the protest.

Tree Removal Reform

Remember the lady that Dan Cort called ‘moron’ over challenging the tree policy?

They argue that the city’s authority to regulate tree planting should be limited to the public spaces it owns and maintains: greenbelts and parks.

“From Eardley to First,” said resident Michael Clark, “is a solid hedge of trees. One of the treasures of the city is its views.”

Michael Clark is a bit blind – a low row of neatly trimmed oaks and one lopped eucalyptus fill the strip between those streets. Is Clark referring to the views of trees or the view from his vinyl clad windows?

Pollacci Rape Trial Delay – Now It’s The Court’s Overcrowding

Too many Pollaccis in court adding to the workload?

The trial for Thomas Pollacci was on hold Friday while Judge Russell Scott tries to finish one trial to make room for another. Pollacci was scheduled to begin trial Monday.

His son, Jordan Thomas Pollacci, 20, is facing a preliminary hearing Friday on charges he burglarized two residences near downtown Pacific Grove on Jan. 4 and Feb. 15. He is being held in Monterey County Jail in lieu of $80,000. That preliminary hearing will likely be delayed. Liu is defending father and son.
