Less than two months after closing The Grill at Point Pinos, the restaurateur appears ready to create another destination.

Aceves’ Crema Lovers Point has applied to transfer liquor licenses from the Pacific Grove Golf Links space to the one recently vacated by California Seltzer Co. at 631 Ocean View Blvd. in Pacific Grove, across the street from Lovers Point. The requested transfer includes a Type 47 full liquor license and a Type 58 catering license.

“As prior owners found out, it’s a big space to fill and trying to run it as a single restaurant if you don’t have winter time local followers is going to make it tough to make it,” said McCord. “Some of the people have existing businesses in Monterey County and this would be a second location but they all realize they can’t make it on summer business alone.

“Businesses are going to have to cater to location and the locals,” he added.

“We’re looking forward to putting some more energy into that community,” said Cisneros. “But the owner is looking for the right tenants.”

The former Lattitudes restaurant at Lover’s Point in Pacific Grove has been purchased by foreign investors for $2.5 million in cash.

Vacant for 4 1/2 years, the new owners plan to turn it into a high-end sushi restaurant, said Moe Ammar, the president of the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce.

“This is the best thing that could happen to Pacific Grove,” he said, noting that The Beach House across the street opened last summer.

Lattitudes, the last restaurant in the 6,683 square foot building, closed in 2010. Before that it housed The Tinnery.
