Sunny Nguyen To Stand Trial For P.G. Murder

Suspect had no pulse and was revived.

Too bad

He went to one bedroom and found it untouched. Then he tried to open a second bedroom’s door. It was blocked. He forced it open and saw a large television had been pushed against it. Inside was mayhem.

Nguyen’s body was draped facedown over the television.

Salazar’s body was on the other side of the room. Both bodies were in pools of blood and Haas could detect pulses in neither. Paramedics revived Nguyen, who was taken to San Jose Regional Medical Center.

Pacific Grove police took Sunny Nguyen, the 26-year-old Seaside resident accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend’s mother to death in her 17 Mile Drive home late the night of Nov. 21, to Monterey County Jail Wednesday night after he was released from the San Jose trauma center where he underwent surgery for stab wounds of his own.

PGPD Chief Darius Engles said forensics experts will determine whether Nguyen’s injuries — including a deep laceration to his neck — were self-inflicted or resulted from a fight with the victim, 46-year-old Judith Salazar.

Sunny Nguyen Appears In Court On Murder Charge

heh, heh. Richard Rosen

Sunny Nguyen, 26, is charged with murdering Judith Salazar Nov. 21. Salinas attorney Richard Rosen appeared with Nguyen on Tuesday and asked that his arraignment be continued to give Nguyen time to retain him or another lawyer.

Judge Adrienne Grover continued the case until Dec.7 and ordered the shackled Nguyen to have no contact with his ex-girlfriend or children.

Though Nguyen’s extensive tatoo “sleeve” was visible above his shackles, he showed no sign of knife wounds Tuesday.

Suspect must have had his head down, that slash across the neck doesn’t look like a shaving cut.

Police said that around 10:45 p.m., officers were called to the 200 block of 17-Mile Drive in regards to a person who had refused to pay for a taxi cab fare.

When officers arrived and knocked on the front door, police said, no one answered. Officials said, however, that police saw movement and heard sounds coming from inside the residence.

When officers went to the side window, police said, they saw what appeared to be blood splattered on the wall.

Officer forced entry into the home and found 46-year-old Judith Salazar of Pacific Grove dead on the floor. Sunny Nguyen, the 26-year-old who is reportedly the father of Salazar’s grandchildren, was also found on the floor suffering from knife wounds.
