“A man was walking his dog and another person came up in her vehicle, opened up the door of her vehicle and before she could grab the leash, the dog ran out and attacked the other dog. The gentleman tried to get the dog off his dog, was unsuccessful tried to pry the mouth of the dog off his dog and ended up biting him as well.” That’s when the man pulled out his knife, stabbing and killing the pitbull.

Although there are dog bag dispensers at Carmel Beach, SOS has found that many visitors are bagging their pets’ waste and leaving it on the sand, rather than walking it to a garbage can.

“Plastic bags of dog waste on the beach are a serious issue,” said Rachel Kippen, SOS Program Manager. “Not only are they an eyesore and horribly unpleasant, but they also have a direct impact on some of our most critical species, including the endangered southern sea otters that call Carmel’s kelp forest home.”

Pet Hoarder Discovered On Fountain Ave

The animals will get first rate care, what about the people living in the house?

A small historic home in Pacific Grove was declared uninhabitable Wednesday after authorities found it crammed with dogs and cats in “shocking” conditions, the SPCA for Monterey County said.

The house was cluttered with piles of clothing, trash and garage, along with feces and urine, the SPCA said.

There were 18 dogs, including four small puppies, locked in three small back rooms. The stench of ammonia from urine was so strong that fire officials recommended that animal rescuers use protective gear.

Two cats were also taken from the home in the 400 block of Fountain Avenue.

Can Dogs Read Pictographs?

Pooping pooches have been warned.

Now I wonder what happens when P.G. bans plastic bags? What can people use to pick up the poop with, free copies of the Cedar St Bull**iten?

No Smoking Dogs

Pacific Grove Police Chief Vicki Myers said if you’re caught letting your dog use your neighbor’s lawn as a restroom, you can be issued a citation. It can also cost you hundreds of dollars in fines.

To curb the problem, residents are posting signs from PG Hardware alerting pet owners to not allow their pets to use their front lawns as a restroom.

P.G. Dog Is A Registered Voter

Davis said he has no intention of actually filling out and casting a ballot on behalf of Cooper in November. But he does intend to show how easy it to for a fake person or non-American citizen to vote.

“I’m concerned that non-citizens are registered to vote, and to prove a point, I registered him,” Davis said. “I’d like to have the system fixed.”

“I’d like to have them verify that you’re a citizen, or at least the right species. That would be nice,” he said.

Vicious Dog Attack At Good Old Days

Please leave the dogs at home. It could have been a child mauled.

“He is lucky to be alive,” she said. Enns said she took Harry to see the dogs at the SPCA for Monterey County adoption booth when they encountered Heidi, who was also on a leash. Without being provoked, the pit bull suddenly attacked Harry, according to Enns.

The UC Davis veterinary hospital treated Harry, who went back to the facility Wednesday for a checkup. Enns said Harry looks “pretty normal” but that he’s missing
some of his front teeth. She said she is going to look into the possibility of having Harry fitted with dental implants. Meanwhile, Heidi, who was in quarantine
at the SPCA after the attack, was scheduled to be put down Thursday.

Ocean Rescue! Lifeguards & Police Respond. For A Dog.

Tax dollars at work. I thought there were no dogs allowed on the beach?

A small, white “Jack Russell terrier”-type dog decided to go for an impromptu swim Wednesday afternoon while walking with its owners on a Pacific Grove beach.

The dog swam out to a rock about 10 feet offshore near Beach Street and Ocean View Boulevard.

The dog didn’t swim back.

The owners called police, who alerted state lifeguards about the pooch on the perch, said fire Capt. Jim Brown.
