Pentagon Shooter From Hollister Was A 911 Truther & Marijuana Crusader

Wow, the Internet brings a whole new look into people that commit acts of violence, eh?

JPatrickBedell wrote the Sabow case was “a step toward establishing the truth of events such as the September 11 demolitions.”

That same posting railed against the government’s enforcement of marijuana laws and included links to the author’s 2006 court case in Orange County, for cultivating marijuana and resisting a police officer. Court records available online show the date of birth on the case mentioned by JPatrickBedell matches that of the John Patrick Bedell suspected in the shooting.

Unsolved P.G. Murder – Fifteen Years Ago This Day

One of LighthouseAvenue.com’s premier edition articles. No progress was ever made and why nothing was mentioned in the paid media I don’t know. Prayers go out to the family of Richard Coleman.

Coleman

Crime Stoppers of Monterey County is a volunteer organization that assists enforcement agencies by urging the public to call anonymously with information about criminals and crimes. The following account regards a murder that took place in Pacific Grove in 1995 of a young man who was known in the gay community.

On March 4, 1995 an unknown male called police about 9 p.m. to report what was discovered to be the body of Richard Graham Coleman III in Apt. A at 303 Grand Ave., Pacific Grove. He had been murdered.

Coleman’s body was found on the floor of the kitchen that Saturday night. There were signs of a struggle and indications of boxes and cupboards having been searched.

The victim had reported that the same apartment had previously been burglarized. Two days before the murder, he had moved to a motel room in Marina because he feared for his life.

Feast Of Lanterns Is Celebration Of Burning Down Chinese Camp

Words from Sandy Lydon, elitist historian.

The May 17, 1906 blaze that swept through most of the Chinese village at Point Alones seared not only the landscape of the Monterey Peninsula, but the memories and histories of its people. The fire continues to loom as some kind of Original Sin whenever there are discussions about this remarkable Chinese village tucked into the cove on Pacific Grove’s eastern boundary.

What emerged was a festival that replicated the lights of the squid boats that had been driven away. Some members of the Chinese community find the resulting festival offensive. The Feast of Lanterns folks respond that their event has nothing to do with the Chinese village.

Put Away The Tinfoil Hats, People

This story ran along with a story about the pot dealer in New Monterey – do pot smokers still get all paranoid after all these years? There are more stronger RF signals in the air everywhere.

The council also approved a number of “housekeeping” ordinances, including changes in regulations of microwave equipment and antennas.

Resident Lorna Moffett said the council should consider health problems that could be caused by microwave radiation from cell phone towers. She said proposed antenna locations should be marked so the public would be aware of them.

Scott Miller Endorsed For Sheriff

After watching the spats between the other two candidates, the choice has to be obvious. I see the others on the TV news and must comment that neither one looks in shape to be a peace officer.

The Monterey County Prosecutors’ Association endorsed candidate Scott Miller for sheriff Monday, after a “near unanimous” vote by its members.

Although he officially left the job as a retiree, he later said he was unfairly fired and ended up suing the city even as he successfully campaigned for City Council. An hour before being sworn in, he formally accepted a $150,000 settlement of the wrongful termination claim he filed against the city. Miller was the top vote-getter in that race for seats on the council.

Matheson said Miller is the only sheriff’s candidate who speaks Spanish, and would bring a “great intellect” to the office.

Library Fantasizes Tax On Marijuana Sales For Support

I don’t make this up.

What about not blowing thousands on web sites or tourist trolleys. If they go the foundation route (like the Mvsevm) the library will always be open though.Liberry books

A “library summit” held Feb. 6 at the Pacific Grove Natural History Museum drew more than 100 people, including City Council members, library board members, city administrators, members of Friends of the Library, library staff and others, said senior librarian Lisa Maddalena.

Ideas raised included proposed new services, approaching Pebble Beach residents as a potential source of tax revenue, using taxes from medical marijuana sales in the city if cannabis clinics are approved, establishing a library foundation to raise funds, and trying, once again, to get a two-thirds majority of voters to approve a tax to keep the library open.

Real Headline: No Problems In Wake Of Tsunami Advisory

Nothing but waves of people gathering at the shore to watch the waves of the ocean. The shoreline accesses were all closed, leaving people to park and stand on the shoulder of the road. Then there were drivers watching the water and not the road:

The National Weather Service issued a tsunami advisory covering the Monterey County coast Saturday, but big waves failed to materialize and no major damage or injuries were reported.

Monterey Harbor officials noticed water rise 8 inches about 12:45 p.m., but said there were no problems in the harbor. The Coast Guard reported no incidents.

The National Weather Service canceled the advisory at 8:21 p.m.

Pacific Grove police officers closed parking lots along Ocean View Boulevard. The popular Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, with its dramatic rocky shoreline, was closed to visitors.

Schlock Websites For Everyone!

Who says the city council does not do enough for us – a business was born from an off the cuff remark. Four Stars, check it out.

Cheap Websites At Webschlock.com, a recession era startup inspired by a City of Pacific Grove councilwoman’s remark that websites created by volunteers are schlocky, announced a “49 Buck Special.” Bobby Joe, the company’s head website designer, said, “We don’t volunteer for nothing but we create schlocky sites real cheap. For a limited time we will give folks a web page for only 49 bucks and we even throw in a free domain name and free hosting for one month. If folks want to continue after the first month, we’ll give them an additional 11 months of hosting for only 11 bucks.”

Moammar Cheers For New Businesses Open On Lighthouse

And now wants to sweep the Farmers Market someplace else.

Moe Ammmarkidaffy

Four of five vacant storefronts on Lighthouse are filled – lessee, we have another art gallery, another nail shop and another one of those stores full of stuff no one wants but would buy as a gift to someone. The first ex-Business Center is still vacant but shows signs of something happening. Hallmark has been vacant for like 3 years.

Moe Ammar, president of the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce, is seeing signs that the downtown economy is turning around.

Since the first of the year, five of the six vacancies on Lighthouse Avenue have been filled, leaving only the old Hallmark location empty.

Four of the five spots were filled by merchants who already have businesses in Pacific Grove, Ammar said. The chamber hired retired banker Michael Adamson last fall as business development coordinator, and he was responsible for filling three of the spots.
