Pollacci has been convicted or accused of sexual assaults multiple times since the 1980s. In all, five women testified at his trial about being attacked by him.

Friday’s suit seeks unspecified general and punitive damages against him, his family and the business. It alleges sexual battery, assault and battery and infliction of emotional distress by Pollacci and Ron’s Liquors; negligent hiring, retention and supervision against his parents, Ronald and Jean Pollacci, his brother, David, and the store; and negligence against all.

“Mr. Pollacci has a well known, long lasting and enduring reputation as a rapist,” said Monterey County Superior Court Judge Russell Scott before pronouncing the sentence.

Scott also said Pollacci showed a great deal of “sophistication” and forethought in planning his attacks. And he quoted a letter from a woman who said she was one of Pollacci’s earlier victims. “He has no reason to live a productive life due to his family, who is willing to take care of him,” wrote the woman

Setting the stage for civil suit. I say go get ’em.

Wearing a bandage on his right elbow from an attack by inmates in the Monterey County Jail on Thursday, Pollacci made no comment during the afternoon hearing and avoided the gaze of the public and media cameras. Out of the glare of the spotlight, he smiled as he was led away from the courthouse in shackles.

Scott said he knew his comments would be received while Pollacci is facing three new rape charges, but felt he had a responsibility to address the community. While Pollacci, 50, was convicted of raping one woman in the loft of his father’s Pacific Grove liquor store, Scott said, he could not ignore the evidence that there were many more victims in the past 30 years.

Convicted rapist Thomas Pollacci entered not-guilty pleas Friday to three new charges that he sexually assaulted two other women in 2007 and 2008.

Pollacci hasn’t been sentenced on the original conviction. He faces up to eight years in prison in that case and an additional 24 years if convicted of all charges in the new case.

Attorney Liu is out, now has a public defender. What happend?

His arraignment in the courtroom of Superior Court Judge Timothy Roberts was bumped to June 11 after Andrew Liu withdrew as Pollacci’s attorney for that case, and public defender J.B. Robert was appointed in his place.

J.B. Robert immediately asked for a continuation for the arraignment to familiarize himself with the case.

Liu, who defended Pollacci in a rape trial that ended in April with a conviction, will continue to represent the 50-year-old Pebble Beach resident in the original case.

Thomas Pollacci, 50, will be arraigned Thursday on three new counts of forcible rape involving two victims.

Pollacci was found guilty April 26 of raping a woman in a loft above his father’s Pacific Grove liquor store, Ron’s Liquors, two years ago.

Prosecutors said that the two alleged victims Pollacci is now being charged with raping are not the same women who testified during Pollacci’s trial in April.

Phone records. Knowing the quality of cell coverage in downtown P.G. I would not take them as evidence. Defense has nothing to go on but to attack the victim.

Defense attorney Andy Liu said phone records and science show she didn’t arrive at the store until after closing and then drank about 10 glasses of wine before she fell from a second-story loft about 2a.m.

Arguments appear to be over whether she fell on her own or Pollacci struck her. What if she was running away in fear and fell?

Two experts testified Tuesday that the woman allegedly raped by Thomas Pollacci in his father’s Pacific Grove liquor store was critically injured in a fall, not by being struck by an object.

The fact that Jane Doe 5 had a laceration on the left side of her head, but internal brain injuries only on the right side, showed her head was moving when it struck a stationary object, not the other way around, according to Dr. Joseph Cohen, chief pathologist for Riverside County, and Bahram Ravani, a UC Davis biomechnical engineering professor.
