“It’s exceptionally rare,” said Chamber of Commerce president Moe Ammar. “In my 24 years in Pacific Grove I think it happens maybe once a year maybe.”

The break-ins started October 23, when the offices of Saint Angela church were burglarized.

The next day, Hopkins Marine lab was targeted, and two days after that, the youth center was broken into.

Police said several personal laptops were stolen from the marine lab and church, and an Xbox game system and a girl’s backpack were taken from the youth center.

A pair of 18-year-olds from Marina
were arrested in Pacific Grove July 16 after
cops pulled them over on David Avenue for a
traffic violation and smelled marijuana coming
from inside the Mitsubushi Eclipse one
of them was driving, according to P.G. police
Cmdr. Rory Lakind.
The officers searched the car and found
two pistols they later discovered had been
stolen from people in Seaside.
Anthony Scott and Johnson Nguyen are
both convicted felons, according to Lakind,
with past charges of being a felon in possession
of a firearm and ammunition, and of
carrying a concealed weapon.

Pacific Grove police are on the lookout for two suspects in a theft at Holman Antiques on Lighthouse Avenue Friday.

A black man and black woman distracted the clerk while they took diamond earrings and two Rolex watches, police said.

The employees didn’t notice the items were stolen until they closed the shop.

Deputies said Aurelio Camilo Bautista, 18, from Greenfield and a 15-year-old boy, demanded money from two golfers from Rocklin, CA and two from Los Altos Hills, CA.

During the confrontation, one of the victims fought with the suspects and ended up with a cut on his ear. Deputies said a golf range finder was taken from another victim. One victim reported seeing a knife in the waistband of on of the suspects, but deputies said a knife was never found.

Gas Pumps Hacked In P.G.

Credit card skimming devices were found at the Shell Gas Station, 1201 Forest Ave., according to the Pacific Grove Police Department.

An investigation showed the skimmers were placed at approximately 11 p.m. on Tuesday and the pumps were deactivated at that time. It is unknown if any customer information was collected or disseminated by the devices.

The suspects were caught on video surveillance and the investigation is ongoing.

The place has been robbed so many times it’s becoming a danger to the town.

The burglar happened in the early morning hours of April 17. According to Central Avenue Pharmacy, the suspects made off with several drugs, mostly Xanax.”They appear to be about 18 to 25 years of age. They appear to be Hispanic males about 5-foot-5-inches to 5-foot-7-inches,” said Gorman.

The shoreline and recreation trail are definitely not safe after dark.

Just after midnight, an officer contacted a man parked near the ocean front on the 1600 block of Ocean View Boulevard. The man was allegedly in possession of a loaded and concealed weapon on himself and having drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.

Santos Gervacio Benitez, 18, of Salinas, was arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail.

At 11 a.m. an officer saw a man smoking marijuana adjacent to the waterfront on the 1700 block of Sunset Drive. Another man was contacted near the water. Both men, under 21, were found in possession of alcohol and had been illegally collecting marine life from teh tide pools.

Alvaro Miranda, 20, and Jesus Miranda Gonzalez, 19, both of San Jose, were arrested on suspicion of a minor in possession of alcohol and illegally taking animals from a marine sanctuary.

Teen Burglars Busted By Beach

Pacific Grove police said they arrested Zachary McGlothen and Justin Clark, both 18, for their suspected involvement in a residential burglary earlier that evening.

Officers responded at 6:30 p.m. to an alarm in the 300 block of Calle De Los Amigos, where they found a residence window shattered. A neighbor provided the description of a suspicious person in the area.

Cops stopped chasing because of reckless driving. Like there is anyone else on the road in P.G. at one in the morning?

between 12:30 and 12:45 a.m. Monday at Point Pinos Grill, and an officer found the suspects’ vehicle while conducting a business check.

The suspects drove off as the patrol car approached, and the officer pursued them but discontinued because of the driver’s extremely reckless driving.

The vehicle was found abandoned on the 600 block of Gibson Avenue, with some property taken from the restaurant in it.

The registered owner was contacted and was unaware the SUV had been stolen

Are the suspects from Pebble Beach? DMP NIMBYs fear the workers’ housing.

Two women were robbed at approximately 9:48 p.m. Saturday on the 1200 block of Lincoln Avenue, according to the Pacific Grove Police Department.

The women had just returned home and as they exited their vehicle they were approached by a man who pointed a handgun at them and demanded their belongings.
