Arkwright Court Tops In Weird Crime

Calling 911 while on drugs, Check. Shooting indoors, Check. Lasers, Check. Yep, weird.

Officers said emergency dispatchers received multiple calls around 12:50 a.m. from an apartment on Arkwright Court, with the callers reporting laser lights flashing, a robbery and being chased by “people and cars.”

 

Police arrived and arrested Ian Peel, 41, Jeffrey Rutt, 19, and Sean Lessen-Dees, 18, all described as residents of the apartment.

 

Charges included being under the influence of a controlled substance, drug and paraphernalia possession, and negligent discharge of a firearm.

 

Police said they found a loaded .357 Magnum revolver that had been fired inside the apartment.

Jason Wright and Rampueng Kaeorawang not only possessed the porn but were producing it.

The case began in November when FBI agents acting on a report of downloaded child pornography searched Wright’s workplace, Farmer’s Insurance on Lighthouse Avenue in Pacific Grove, according to an affidavit filed in federal court. Wright was present and consented to a search of his laptop computer, which was seized after agents allegedly found child porn on it.

 

A subsequent forensic search of the computer identified numerous files depicting graphic child sexual abuse, according to the affidavit. Based on those findings, a grand jury indicted Wright on May 11.

 

A search of his house was conducted the next day and more computers were seized. On them, the affidavit states, electronic forensics experts found photos of Kaeorawang engaging in sexual conduct with a young girl.

School officials told police that on Thursday a student “was coerced by two fellow students to a wooded area off school property” then beaten, police said.

 

The two alleged assailants may have been under the influence of narcotics, police said. They were taken to Monterey County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of assault with great bodily injury and conspiracy

P.G. Man Arrested Again And Again

Dope. Where every experience Is a new one again.

Officers said they responded to the 500 block of Grove Acre Avenue after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area, and they found Manuel Amorin in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

According to police records, Amorin was recently released from jail after posting bail for another drug-related incident.

Sidewalks in Del Monte Park? That just ruins the character of the place.

On the east side of the church property, new houses — and a new sidewalk — have been built, and the Rev. Chuck Davis, pastor of the church, sees the writing on the wall.

 

Terry O’Connell, Davis’ neighbor but not a Church of Christ member, said the new sidewalk is built at an angle that would require the church “to give up a sizable piece of its property” to merge the sidewalks.

 

He said city street supervisor Emilio Alcaraz said the city plans to require sidewalk construction whenever property owners seek permits for reconstruction or remodeling their homes or businesses if they don’t already have a sidewalk.

Schools Want More Tax Money

“To maintain and improve the quality of education”. Does that mean more parking lots and football stadiums?

The tax, called Measure V, will go before the voters on the November 8 ballot. It asks for a $60 tax per parcel for four years to fund academic services and programs.

 

If approved by two-thirds of the voters, it would eventually replace Measure X, a $35 parcel tax passed by 70.84% of Pacific Grove voters in 2008. The new measure would add roughly $230,000 per year to the budget beginning in the 2012-2013 year, according to the PGUSD website.

 

District officials said Measure V will be used as a mechanism to maintain and improve the quality of education in Pacific Grove.

Love Them Short Term Rental People

Part time dweller meets short term dwellers on a bad note.

Pacific Grove: Female reported she is the owner of an Ocean View Boulevard condo which she inhabits part time. Some of the other units are being rented as short-term rentals. She stated over the past six days, there have been three separate incidents  involving short-term rental guests.

 

She stated on Aug. 16, she found a young boy standing in her living room, an unknown man was pounding on her door during the nighttime hours on Aug. 19, and another unknown man entered her dwelling on Aug. 21 by mistake, thinking it was his rental unit.

 

She does not feel safe in her residence due to the quantity of people coming and going from the property as a result of the rental status. She requested matters be documented for information only, as she will also be notifying the city council.

Wright was released from Monterey County Jail after he posted bail for himself, but not his wife.

 

In May, FBI agents found numerous sex toys in his backyard and thousands of child porn photos and videos on his work computer. He was released from jail on a $100,000 bail.

 

Wright met his wife in Thailand and brought her to Monterey to be married in 2009, police said.

 

His brother, John Albert Wright, is a registered child sex offender. The 35-year-old’s address is listed at his parent’s house on Sinex Avenue in Pacific Grove, but he actually lives in Thailand, police said. John Wright was convicted of lewd acts with a child under 14 years old.

The young shark, a four-foot, seven-inch male weighing 43.2 pounds, was brought north in a 3,200-gallon mobile life support transport vehicle. He was collected August 18 by aquarium staff with the help of a commercial fishing crew using a purse seine net. He was quickly transferred to a more than 4-million-gallon ocean holding pen off Malibu, where he remained for almost two weeks.

1983 Homicide Victim From PG Located At Del Monte Center

Skeletal remains found Aug. 18 by a land surveyor in a wooded area near Del Monte Shopping Center were those of a 20-year-old Pacific Grove woman who disappeared in the winter of 1983.

Dental records led to identification of Jennifer Lynn Morris, who was last seen about 3 p.m. on Jan. 24, 1983, after she made a purchase at a store in the center, police said Wednesday.
