Presumably to be replaced by the latest fad, New Empty Buildings like in the 100 Block
Four parcels between the intersections of Reeside and Dickman avenues in Monterey were sold recently to Carl Outzen, a former Monterey city councilman.
Outzen declined to give the purchase cost, other than to confirm it was for less than $1 million.
Outzen estimates it could take at least a year and a half before he gets city approval for the mixed-use building.
The only tenant is The Vinyl Revolution, a used record store, at 230 Lighthouse Ave. The business has been there since 1994, and Outzen said he will wait to demolish that building last. He said it is possible the store could go in his new structure.
