Bad bummer – wet, freezing, stranded then arrested

Corey King, 22, of Pacific Grove, was arrested on felony warrants for driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and petty theft with a prior.
The arrest came after King and two of his friends called for help when all of their backpacking gear, including matches and clothes, were soaked by rain. Officials said the men, who have been backpacking since Friday, had been in “grave danger” of freezing.
Following the rescue, officials learned that King had a felony no-bail warrant for his arrest. King was arrested for the warrant and the two other men and dog returned home.
