Pacific Grove police said a boy reported that a man tried to lure him into a car Wednesday by offering him candy.
The incident happened about 4:30 p.m. near Robert Down School when a man in a blue two-door Honda Civic pulled up alongside the child. The boy ran to the school office and police were called.
Officers said they searched the area but were unable to find the car or the man. The man is described as about 40 years old with black spiked hair and a goatee.

you said pervs “still on prowl in p.g”. are there other incidents that have been reported? my child is in 4th grade and i walk/drive her every day to and from school. her father says that it is unnecessary because we are in a safe neighborhood, and nothing will happen to her in that half mile walk home alone (there are no other kids that walk with her).
anything you can tell me more about, so i can show him that i am not being too cautious.

My kids never walked to school alone up to grade 6. Either with a buddy or a parent/sitter.
Other pervs? I’ve got none that specifically target grade schoolers, but there are articles on David Stamm and Ben Munhall that went after teens. Mike Veitengruber was arrested for importing supposed date rape drugs.
