While all the police were at the Pet Parade.
A woman was robbed by two men in Pacific Grove Friday afternoon, moments after the Feast of Lanterns pet parade concluded, according to Cmdr. John Nyunt.
“When all of our officers were tied up on this parade, we had an individual walking at Lighthouse and 13th toward town,” he said. At about 3 p.m. July 25, two men wearing dark clothing with hoodies grabbed her purse from her.

David,
this is yet another post that shows your bias in making the town look bad. I will make my points from what seems to be a reasonable code of ethics for bloggers posted at http://www.cyberjournalist.net/news/000215.php
1)”A BLOGGERS’ CODE OF ETHICS
Be Honest and Fair
Bloggers should be honest and fair in gathering, reporting and interpreting information.” You are implying that the officers in the picture were sitting around while the crime was taking place. Did you research that? and were they? Wat the picture even taken on the day of the crime? your url for the pictures source doesn’t come up with a copy of the pic or a date/time for when it was take. Do you belive that police officers do not deserive some time to sit down.
2)”Make certain that Weblog entries, quotations, headlines, photos and all other content do not misrepresent. They should not oversimplify or highlight incidents out of context.”
Do you know what the officers were doing? is the officer on the phone doing police work? is the picture take at the time or just after the time of the crime? If you cant answer these questions then you are misrepresenting, oversimplifying and highlighting incidents out of context.
3)”Never publish information they know is inaccurate — and if publishing questionable information, make it clear it’s in doubt.”
again if you don’t even know what day the picture was taken then you have published questionable information and there is no disclaimer that the officers may have been photograhped on another day or time
4)”Distinguish between advocacy, commentary and factual information. Even advocacy writing and commentary should not misrepresent fact or context.”
All we know that is factual is the headline, a woman was robbed after the feast of lanterns on Firday. since you can’t tie the picture to the story, the picture is more commentary that you think the PG police are lazy. But you don’t state that you blur the lines by posting the headline then showing two cops on a break.
5)”Be Accountable
Bloggers should:
Admit mistakes and correct them promptly.”
I don’t want to be O/T about the past but are you willing to admit that this is confusing, possible misrepresnting, or otherwise questionable information?
6)”Explain each Weblog’s mission and invite dialogue with the public over its content and the bloggers’ conduct.”
What is the missing of this weblog? Are you trying to make the cops look bad are you showing that they were on their asses while the crime went down, I don’t know
7)”Abide by the same high standards to which they hold others. ”
If someone was reporting on how people in Pacific Grove are lazy do nothings then showed you napping on a couch, would that be acceptalbe to you. If so then I guess you are observing this part of the voluntary code.
I really don’t know what this page is about. Are you trying to make Pacific Grove look bad? Are you trying to encourage people to visit? Are you trying to promot change? It seems you have a beef with P.G if you want ppl to come visit this isn’t the way to do it. If you want change be more clear in your reporting and offer up a few solutions

Just logging the news. As the tourists come to town, the predators soon follow. Robberies on the rec trail are up too, right on schedule.
