Avoid Uncomfortable Contact With The Deer

Mad Deer

The Pacific Grove Police Department received reports from residents who say deer in their neighborhood have been acting aggressively recently.

How can you tell if a deer is mad at you? An alarmed deer will change its stance and eye posture. It will also stomp its feet and huff. Residents who encounter this should slowly back away and avoid the area.

Pacific Grove police said the best way to avoid uncomfortable contact with deer is to follow these tips:

Don’t feed the deer
Keep dogs on a leash
Be especially cautious of deer with fawns
Observe deer from a distance
