I would eat off the floor at Fournier’s bakery. It’s very clean. I can’t get myself to go into Pavel’s bakery any more, after the baker wiped his runny nose on his apron and his hand before serving me. That was the last time I went in there. Yuck!
After reading this, one thing is clear- nobody working in PG or Monterey food biz washes their hands. ugh!
Pacific Thai must be really clean. Cool.

“Inadequate handwashing facilities” can be no soap in the dispenser when the inspector visits.
Cleanliness is a tough job in a restaurant that may have been something else in the 1920s then filled with various appliances. Too many odd spaces for stuff to drop into and forget.
Dirtiest place I worked in was Golden Egg. Cleanest was Sones’ Sunset Korean.

During the summer a certain fecal coliform bacteria grows in the sand at Lover’s Point, thus when the sea comes up it gathers that & brings it back to the sea. So that’s why there is so much coliform in the water in the summer. Of course they don’t want to bring this up before the Feast…..Getting just a few grains in your mouth is enough to give you the runs.
