Owner Of Stolen SUV In DUI Is Seaside Police Commander’s Son

Cops are looking for the supplier of the alcohol to the underage drinkers. .

The SUV was later reported stolen to Pacific Grove police by 19-year-old Christopher Veloz, Pacific Grove Police Chief Darius Engles said Tuesday.

Veloz is the son of Seaside police Cmdr. Chris Veloz. The commander said he does not live in Pacific Grove and would not comment on the crash.

Veloz, 19, told police he had visitors at his home in Pacific Grove and fell asleep between midnight and 1 a.m. Sunday while the guests where there, Engles said.

Veloz said he was awakened about 4 a.m. by a phone call from his father, who told him the SUV had been involved in an accident.
