8/6/07 An unknown suspect released an unknown amount of pepper spray into the air inside of the Kelp Forest section of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Located at 886 Cannery Row. There were approximately 8,000 visitors inside at the time. Only (6) complained of symptoms. It occurred at 1554 hours. The aquarium was evacuated until the Health department cleared it.

Hi there,
Stumbled upon this site. Used to live in Pacific Grove in the 60s. Sang at Dick O’Kane’s Warehouse. Am a writer and in the process of writing a memoir of that time from 1964 – 1974. I think I sang under the name of Nikki O’flaherty. If anyone has any photos of the interior / exterior of Capone’s Warehouse on Cannery Row, I am interested in purchasing a print whether I am singing there or not.

I remember going to Capone’s Warehouse when we wanted to get a bit fancier than Ace’s Pizza. The entrance was a simple pinball machine arcade with a phone booth that was rigged with a secret door that led to the speakeasy. The place cracked me up with the gambling tables and “we proudly pour” sign under paint thinner cans and other odd containers. Pure cornball humor at it’s best. The singing stage was an old flatbed truck.
Around the corner was Floras, a bar with the brothel theme. There was a loft with a bed in the bar . . and a stocking covered leg in view.
Okane’s was one of the last locals’ places to go on the ‘Row. I still have a couple Okane’s Irish Coffee mugs.
