Hosting companies, sheeshe.
Last time I survived a server migration by a hosting company it lasted over 3 months. That marked the end of doing business with them.
Seems that the current host is moving the servers out of tornado alley and managed to mess up a connection. All is well now, pardon me while I go make a backup.
You are on notice, Hosting Zoom.
Yeah, I missed you last night. Don’t tell my husband.
GoDaddy convinced me only to “point” to HostMonster when I wanted to move my hosting. They said otherwise my email would go down for 5 days or more. What they didn’t tell me is that is would go down for 4 days instead. Is there anyone out there who HASN’T had a problem?
Last host (after using yahoo! for a couple of years $$$) was Page Zone. Cheap – $6.95 month for 5 sites. After a few years of acceptable service things fell apart. I stayed with them for 3 weeks after their server move kept taking sites off & on. Visited their support message board and followed the tales of agony by those that stayed, it went on for months.
Host Zoom is $12 or $20 depending on level of service. I also get more space & sites. When any isolated thing happens to cause trouble they have 24/7 support that actually answers and fixes the problem.
Biggest advice – don’t use your host/domain email for a contact with the host company. If the host of your domain is dead, so is your mail.
I missed you last night too.
My day is not complete unless I take a peak here on your site.
Host Monster has crappy reviews. Yikes, the fate of the paper depends on them. But we see how they do.
