At about 1:10 a.m. on July 6, the Monterey Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at 722 Hillcrest Ave. When they arrived, residents of the 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 1,270 square-foot-home had already evacuated.
Firefighters “saved approximately $756,000 in property and contents, while the fire caused an estimated $800,000 worth of damage and lost contents.”
